Minor injuries of what we call low collision speeds can be at 5-10 mph. Contrary to what insurances say, there can be little or no damage to the car meaning no damage to the occupant. Most all the g-forces are directed to the passengers. Bumpers are manufactured to take substantial forces, our bodies are not. Many factors determine the extent of one's injuries. How far their head is from the headrest, how high or low the headrest was positioned, what direction the person was looking on impact, how ill-fitted their seat belt was, the weight of the vehicle that hit them, did the person hit their brake, were they speeding up, and did the occupants brace themselves for impact. There are so many variables that really can not be controlled for and thus no simple answers can be given for injuries.

Injury Care Chiropractic has seen hundreds of patients who present with pain many years later as the result of a low collision crash. It is very important to be checked out by a doctor who has the experience and knowledge to help you avoid future pain and disability. These problems will show up in the next 5-10 years. I believe it is important to have the strongest documentation of your injuries in case you need an attorney and we at Injury Care Chiropractic can correlate this with your insurance company.

Remember, call Injury Care Chiropractic immediately following an accident.
