United States, May 6th, 2020 – The Fallout Community Stream Team announced its formation on Wednesday on Twitch, a team of 41 members from all over the world and on all consoles. Comprised of a leadership team and peer advisory board for application review, the public announcement was revealed in a brief introductory video of the team and the start of a 4-day global stream-o-thon May 6th to the 9th.
“Since 1997, generations of gamers fell in love with this post-apocalyptic RPG, us included,” says team leader Kenneth Vigue, creator of the CHAD: A Fallout 76 Story podcast. “But the launch of Fallout 76 gave us the ability to journey together and create a closer community. Organically these past few years as streamers and content creators, we started collaborating to facilitate events and raise money for charity.”
“Lone Wanderer, Sole Survivor, Chosen One--these are names we know. Yet when we found each other in Fallout 76, we also found that we could do much more together--as a Community,” said team leader J-Star, one of the founding members of the United Wastelanders Network on Twitch.
Team leader Shredz, owner and host of the ElGatoPub on Twitch, continued, “Seeing so many great content creators traversing the Twitch ecosystem and cultivating their individual communities, it really did seem only natural that it was time for a team…taking the inherent Fallout community support and multiplying that positivity across the broader range of streamers and creators.”
The Fallout Community Stream Team’s members range from established streamers to new up and comers with a strong follower base and established brand. In the last year they were watched by over 100,000 people during over 2 million hours of stream time on Twitch, bringing in over 51,000 new viewers.
“I've always treated Fallout like a canvas for which I get to create my own unique content,” says team leader Tooniversal of the TooniversalTV show on Twitch. “It's the openness, and customization in a compelling world that allows me to do just that.”
The team also revealed a community calendar of their own with a Fallout For Hope plant-a-tree fundraiser event for the American Heart Association May 24th to the 31st that includes “Fallopalooza”, a Fallout 76 based live music festival. A second fundraiser under the Fallout For Hope initiative was also announced for December 4th to the 19th for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
“We are an unofficial group of cheerleaders and ambassadors simply looking to share our passion for Fallout with others,” says Vigue. “We are not affiliated, sponsored or endorsed by Bethesda Softworks LLC, ZeniMax Media Inc. or the Microsoft Corporation in any way, but they were kind enough to give us their blessing to do this.”
Beginning with 41 Twitch streamers, the team has an open application process for anyone to join their ranks once they meet the qualifications, including streaming for 9+ months, a minimum of 500 followers and who can commit to streaming a Fallout title 50% of the time.
