Josée is a Human Resources Expert who specializes in human resource emergencies, problem-solving, crisis management, leadership coaching, and overall performance management. She began her HR career on the high seas more than 19 years ago, working for Celebrity Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Lines, and finally living and working in the Bahamas. Josée has gained valuable knowledge and experience working with people from over 60 different nationalities in these roles.

When she returned to Canada, Josée decided to pursue her Executive MBA while gaining more HR experience. Josée began working for the largest pharmaceutical company in Canada for over a decade.

She then established her consulting firm and has become her clients' "go-to" person on a daily basis. She has expanded the company with clients in Canada, the United States, and  ranging in size from 10 to 250 employees. One of her primary areas of focus is mental health, which she achieves by coaching leaders to be the best they can be, resulting in a positive work environment for all.

In 2019, she published Navigating HR-Simple Tips for People Leaders, a book that provides leaders with quick and easy HR tips to help them manage their teams. A concise, all-encompassing guide to human resource management in the business world. In her debut as an author, Larocque-Patton draws on her 15-plus years as a human resources representative to provide a comprehensive guide to the many roles of HR in the workplace." These include hiring, training, employee relations, ensuring a safe work environment and fair treatment of employees, and issuing warnings and firings when necessary. Each chapter contains a general discussion of the topic at hand and several "Story Time" sections in which the author relates specific examples from her extensive experience. There are also "HR Jail" stories with a more ominous tone. In every case, the book reminds readers that the topics under consideration are frequently governed by local and federal legislation. When it comes to references, she informs us that "in some countries, there are laws that state a former employer can be liable for preventing someone from receiving an offer from another employer. For this reason, you should be cautious about providing negative references. Similarly, she investigates the delicate task of terminating employees, including potential liabilities. Employee engagement surveys and exit interviews are also covered; in the latter, Larocque-Patton notes that people are more honest "because they will never see you again." Josee discusses the many differences between employee generations, including baby boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and the youngest employees of Generation Z . "Want to contribute to the world, will not put in extra time at work as more important things to do...short attention span") in one of the book's most entertaining and thought-provoking sections.

Her writing style is straightforward and provides easy reading and evident authority throughout the book. Along the way, she wisely reminds readers that employees are also customers and ambassadors and that treating them well will benefit not only them but also one's business in various ways.

Readers benefit from Josée Larocque-wealth Patton's knowledge and experience in human resource development. The results-oriented book provides a comprehensive view of an employee's life cycle, from onboarding to offboarding, with chapters containing practical, easy-to-implement advice that can be applied right away, even by those with little or no human resource experience.

Before embarking on her professional career, Josee attended Queen's University BAH Sociology, Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology Human Resources Management HR, The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, and earned an EMBA in Business Administration and Management,

Throughout her illustrious career, Josée has received awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her leadership and knowledge in the HR Industry. This year she is being considered for a feature article in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and the Empowered Woman Award given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

"We are honored to have Josee as part of our IAOTP family," said Stephanie Cirami, President of IAOTP. "She is brilliant at what she does and has a unique compassion and expertise in the field of human relations. We know she will be an amazing asset to our network of professionals. We are looking forward to meeting her at the Annual Awards Gala this year."

Looking back, Josee's proudest accomplishments to date are the creation of leadership development programs. Josée created these programs in collaboration with companies she worked with, and they are still in use today. This is a huge deal for her, and it still makes her want to pat herself on the back. She pioneered the HR role on Disney's Island Castaway Cay, which was a huge accomplishment for her and a role that has greatly aided them. Many years later while working for a multibillion dollar Canadian brand, she earned her Executive MBA.  In the future, she plans to continue to guide professionals to identify what type of leadership style they are. Josee states, "To be great leaders, it is not the responsibility of others to adapt to us; it is our responsibility to adapt to them."
