Verdun spent 22 years in business development and management positions with News America Marketing, the News Corporation division that delivers FSI, in-store and digital media to shoppers in the U.S. and Canada. In his last role at News America, as Executive Vice President of Sales, he led a 120-member team and oversaw more than $450 million in business from clients such as Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser and Cola-Cola. Verdun also headed the Smart Source Media Group and Custom Media-Direct Response Division.

Immediately prior to joining BrandShare, he was Chief Growth Officer of Touchstorm, a technology-enabled services company that builds video audiences for the world’s largest brands.

“We are thrilled to have Alan as a key member of our leadership team,” said BrandShare President and CEO Doug Guyer. “Drawing on his rich CPG, DTC and digital marketing expertise, Alan will play a major role in marshaling our next chapter of growth while fostering deeper connections with BrandShare’s current and potential clients.”

Experiencing rapid growth tied to the E-commerce boom, BrandShare has projected that its E-commerce sampling, which promotes hundreds of world-leading brands by providing product samples and brand offers inside online order packages, will increase 366% from 2013 to 2017. BrandShare expects brand investment in sampling to rise 5% this year, reaching $34.12 billion, and to increase at a 4.6% CAGR to $40.69 billion by 2020.
