BOSTON

Raytown Quality Schools, one of just seven districts in the nation to receive the Consortium for School Networking (COSN) Trusted Learning Environment Seal, has chosen itslearning as its new learning management system (LMS) after a rigorous search for a partner that could support the district’s commitment to student data privacy.

The state of Missouri had originally moved forward with another LMS for a state-wide contract. However, Raytown Director of Instructional Technology Melissa Tabbenkamp, CETL, realized that the other provider didn’t meet the Trusted Learning Environment standards. So she searched for a different LMS, one that would support her district’s commitment to this 21st century educational challenge of student data privacy and security.

“We are responsible for safeguarding our student’s data privacy in a digital terrain, and we needed the framework that itslearning readily offers to not only assure but demonstrate to parents that we are committed to protecting student data,” said Tebbenkamp.

Designed specifically for the K-12 market, itslearning helps improve education in and out of the classroom. The intuitive LMS features effectively connect teachers, parents and students to create differentiated learning solutions for every student. Moreover, the acclaimed itslearning platform continues to evolve to meet the 21st century learning initiatives of school districts. Key areas of recent focus include:

“Many school systems in Europe are already going the extra mile to protect student data,” said Arne Bergby, CEO of itslearning. “So we are already prepared to assist schools and districts in the United States. If you are taking the measurable step to guarantee digital privacy and security, measures are in place.”
