Oregon, Clackamas, California, Washington, United States, – 04-02-2019 —

Spring brings multiple things to mind in Oregon; planting of gardening, March Madness basketball, and for those in Toastmasters, competitions. March is Toastmaster month in Oregon, and the start of competition and conference season.

The Potential Unleashed Conference features Dana LaMon, the first of only two Toastmasters worldwide who have ever become both a World Champion of Public Speaking and Accredited Speaker. LaMon will be sharing insights on taking a chance to become the best version of themselves, and the tools he has gained to unlock potential in all areas of life.

“If you are not willing to take a chance on yourself, you are not likely to realize the greatness with which you were born,” says Dana LaMon.

This year, District Seven Toastmasters is holding their 2019 conference Potential Unleashed at Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, Oregon from April 26th to 27th.

To kickoff the conference on Friday, LaMon will present as the Keynote speaker, accompanied by hearty appetizers and a no host bar. His first presentation, “Take a Chance: Realize the Greatness with Which You Were Born”, will be on three barriers that can keep the audience from taking a chance and creating growth opportunities. The following day, LaMon will be featured as a Keynote Speaker after breakfast on how to untie the NOTS in life.

“You have the power to determine the course of your life and to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Dana LaMon, explaining the meaning of his speech “Untying Your Dreams: Realize Your Full Potential”.

This conference offers a chance to network with other professionals, and choose from 12 one hour long breakout sessions on communication, leadership, and personal development. Members from all across District Seven Toastmasters will be hosting these sessions, with a special session held by Dana LaMon on how to become an Accredited Speaker.

To prepare for this event, all of the clubs in District Seven Toastmasters have been holding competitions to see which members will place in the top 18 speakers in Oregon. These top members will compete at District Seven’s annual Spring Conference, in the International Public Speaking and Evaluation Contest.

Experience District Seven Toastmasters’ evaluation contest Saturday morning to see who wins the title Speech Evaluation Champion. On Saturday afternoon, District Seven will hold their special Distinguished Toastmaster Ceremony, to honor those who have received the highest award Toastmasters offers. That evening showcases the International Public Speaking contest where the top two contestants of the night will be chosen to move on to compete at the Toastmasters International Convention during the World Public Speaking Championships.

Registration is now open for the conference, to be held at Camp Withycombe, 15300 Minuteman Way, Clackamas, OR 97015, on April 26th and 27th. The nonprofit conference includes Dana LaMon’s opening address, two championship contests and educational workshops. It offers entertainment, leadership skills building, and communications training in a Friday evening session and all day on Saturday. Register through the District 7 Toastmasters website, www.d7toastmasters.org or directly from the Potential Unleashed website.
