LONDON – 01-02-2019 (PRDistribution.com) —
On Monday, St Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Dr. the Hon Timothy Harris gave his 2019 New Year’s speech to the nation’s citizens and residents. Starting the year on a positive note, he celebrated St Kitts and Nevis and looked forward to the new year with commitments to action under the policy of continued sustainable growth. The attraction of St Kitts and Nevis’ Citizenship by Investment (CBI)
(SGF) is a vital part of achieving this goal.
The SGF is the newest fund option under St Kitts and Nevis’ CBI Programme. Introduced in 2018, the fund offers aspiring economic citizens a range of competitive advantages, including speed, choice, transparency, and community investment. Such benefits, detailed below, have led the fund to become one of the most attractive and popular CBI options worldwide.
As a result of this success, long-term economic growth across the country is bolstered. Foreign direct investment, sales in the tourism and construction sectors, and liquidity in the country’s balance sheet all benefit from increased CBI interest. All three are paramount to achieving sustainable growth, and were marked by the Prime Minister as key areas of pursuit in 2019. As the SGF maintains its status as a premium product, citizens can expect great rewards.
Advantages of the SGF:
From the time of submission of the application to receipt of approval or otherwise, applicants are notified of the outcome of their application in a maximum of 3 months. It is frequently shorter: many applicants receive approval within 8 to 10 weeks. A key reason St Kitts and Nevis can offer such speed is because the SGF requires a one-time transfer directly to the Government. There are no further contracts, nor any future physical or financial obligations. This presents a straightforward verification process for the Government and less hassle for the applicant. St Kitts and Nevis’ unique Accelerated Application Process (AAP) option also exists. It affords an even faster service with a maximum time of 60 days. Under the AAP, applicants have been approved in just 4 weeks.
The SGF bestows applicants with greater choice. It has a lower investment requirement for both single applicants and families, and is thus a more affordable option. Applicants also have flexibility regarding the agent they select to advise on their application. They may choose any agent or service provider authorised by the Government. The complete list of authorised persons is found on the official Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) website.
Internationally renowned for its Programme, St Kitts and Nevis’ reputation in the CBI industry is one of integrity and decorum. The Programme and the SGF work in accordance with international values and standards. The CIU operates transparently and information about the Programme is available for public use on the CIU website. Consequently, applicants’ reputations are safeguarded. In addition, the single payment under the fund offers a process free from commercial risk.
In accordance with its name, all funds under the SGF go directly towards aiding the Government in its policy of long-term sustainable growth. As addressed by Prime Minister Dr. the Hon Harris, this strategy includes investment in areas such as housing, sports facilities, agriculture, and climate resilient infrastructure. All these and more benefit from increased CBI interest. A recent example is the resurfacing of the main island road and community roads in Cayon, Challenger’s, Lodge Project, Molineux, and Sandy Point. Through such engagement with their adoptive citizens, applicants are truly able to become part of the community.
