Tonya Harris selected as Top Environmental Toxicity Specialist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Tonya Harris, Speaker, Author, Environmental Toxicity Specialist, Children’s Mental Health Advocate, and Founder of Slightly Greener, was just recently selected as Top Environmental Toxicity Specialist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. With over a decade of professional experience in Holistic Nutrition and over two decades of experience educating the public on products and toxins that affect their health and well being, Tonya has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in many fields. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, Tonya has demonstrated success not only as a Environmental Toxicity Specialist, but in every position she has ever held.  Her impressive repertoire of prior roles have included: Owner of Naturally Boutique: which was an Online store carrying chemical-free, natural and organic products.  Tonya was a Publications Editor for the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, and presently a Podcast Host for the Happy Child Project and Founder of Slightly Greener.  Her key areas of expertise are Environmental Toxins, ADHD, Effects of toxins on children, Simple solutions for removing toxins in the home, childhood cancer awareness, De-stigmatizing learning disabilities and mental health challenges in children.  

As a childhood leukemia survivor and mother of three, Tonya’s path has led her to helping parents learn how toxins in the home can affect their child’s health.  As the creator of the Slightly Greener Method, Tonya offers busy moms simple and doable solutions to reducing toxins, without turning their lifestyle upside-down. She has been featured in Parents, Reader’s Digest, Thrive Global, and on TV Shows such as Great Day Washington, WBTV and Good Day Charlotte. 

Tonya earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and her Master of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also is board certified and holds multiple certificates in the environmental health field. Throughout her illustrious career Tonya has received awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2019 she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and was selected as Top Environmental Toxicity Specialist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).   

Aside from her successful career Tonya is also a published author of Henry the Flying Squirrel, where her mission includes showing children that it is possible to overlook their label whether it is a learning disability, behavior issue or diagnosis, and to recognize their strengths.  Tonya is a sought after public speaker and Children’s Mental Health Advocate.  She is also a big believer in paying it forward.  She was listed as Top 15 most charitable women where Tonya founded Clubs to Cure Kids, a foundation to support childhood cancer research and family support programs in the Chicago area. 

Looking back, Tonya attributes her success to perseverance, mentors she has had along the way and staying passionate in all of her business endeavors.  When not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Tonya says she has been blessed she loves helping and educate people and feels this is just the beginning. For the future, she hopes to continue to make a difference in people’s lives any way that she can.
