100 Black Men of America, Inc. Reacts to State of Minnesota v. Derek Chauvin Verdict

2021-04-20 16:00:00 - United States, Georgia, Atlanta - (PR Distribution™)

Atlanta, GA – April 20, 2021 - The verdicts against Derek Chauvin, for the egregious murder of George Floyd, demonstrate that justice is possible when we insist on equal treatment of the law. The 100 Black Men of America view this verdict as a moment in pursuit of justice. It is evidence that we may be on the right path of addressing widespread injustice. When we are silent or afraid to get into “good trouble,” we allow divisive forces to steal our humanity. The 100 Black Men of America has consistently fought against injustice and applauds the efforts of Keith Ellison and his team of lawyers who dared to seek the truth and obtain verdicts based on the evidence. These verdicts will help to “take America’s knees off the necks” of Black people. But, we must remain vigilant to fight injustice wherever it exists. The 100 Black Men of America will continue to stand with all people of goodwill in fighting police brutality, voter suppression, racism, and injustice.
