Atlanta, GA – September 18, 2020

The final day of 100 Black Men of America, Inc.’s virtual conference is specially designed for youth participation and engagement.  It has been a time-honored tradition of the 100 to highlight the talents and accomplishments of the organization’s youth mentees and provide them with an opportunity to engage national leaders on topics that impact their lives.  Signature 100 events, Report from Our Youth and the Barbershop Youth Forum will take place Saturday, September 19, 2020. The day will culminate with a Wells Fargo Hands on Banking Youth Simulation Activity. Youth are encouraged to participate and hear from their contemporaries and from nationally recognized leaders who will moderate and participate.

Saturday’s events begin at 10:30 AM (EST) with the Report from our Youth Forum, a session designed to showcase the talents of 100 mentees as they report on their personal and chapter achievements. The youth will also express their concerns around COVID-19 which has impacted their education, health, economic well-being and social interactions.

The Report from Our Youth Forum will be followed by the Youth Barbershop Forum at 12:00 PM (EST) which is themed “Taking a Cut Out of Life” and is a continuation of The 100’s Barbershop Tour.  The series was developed from a desire to provide a “safe space” that replicates that of the black barbershop, where discussions take place on the issues facing the Black Community.

Youth are invited to participate in the WellsFargo Hands on Banking Youth Simulation Activity between 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM (EST). Designed to engage high school and college aged young adults, the simulated environment will build their awareness and deliver experiential learning around budgeting for clothing, groceries, transportation and childcare.

The 100 is proud of have the support of the U.S. Army, Delta Air Lines, McDonald’s, State Farm, Walmart and Wells Fargo who will serve as sponsors for Saturday’s youth focused events.

“During the 100’s Annual Conference, Saturday is dedicated to our youth, and although we are in a virtual environment, the 100 was determined this year would be no exception. Our youth are brilliant and have so much vital information to share with the world,” said Thomas W. Dortch, Jr., Chairman, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. “We always want to hear from our mentees and expose them to some of the nation’s leaders.  The Youth Power Forums will allow us to achieve our goals, which would be difficult to accomplish without the support of our sponsors,” stated Chairman Dortch.

These sessions are free, and the public can access it on Facebook, YouTube or on the 100’s website at 100blackmen.org.  The public can RSVP hereto secure a spot and to
