Awareness Talks™ Offers a New Model for Discussing Social Causes on October 20

Tuesday, October 13, 2020 - Owosso, MI - In a small Midwest town, a big National conversation is about to begin. Produced in Los Angeles, moderated from Atlanta and hosted in little Owosso, MI, Awareness Talks offers an alternative narrative to aid society in these uncomfortable social and political times.

“Minds can’t be changed by mandates,” says founder of Awareness Ties, Jack McGuire. “More must be done to educate and engage the public.”

On October 20, Awareness Ties, a platform for positive social impact, presents Awareness Talks™ (www.awarenesstalks.com), a live monthly broadcast to raise awareness about various social issues through raw, unfiltered dialogue and real conversation. Each month a new issue will be discussed with a diverse group of panelists. Co-hosted by founders of Awareness Ties, Jack and Allié McGuire, Awareness Talks will be moderated by Lisa Bowman, former CMO of United Way and founder of Marketing Mojo.

“People are tired of being spun. Dizzy from repurposed content and numbed by standard programming, we’re all sick and tired of canned statements and token talking points,” says Allié McGuire, co-founder of Awareness Ties. “Our goal with Awareness Talks is to broadcast a conversation that leads to more conversations and ultimately action. We believe conversation can be a catalyst for change.”

On Tuesday, October 20th at 8pm EST, the inaugural Awareness Talks broadcast, entitled ‘Comfortable With Being Uncomfortable’, will be a conversation about ‘race’. All the things we’re all afraid to say (or to hear) will be on the table and discussed. Popular biases will be explored and personal stories will be shared. The all-star panel includes three of the Official Ambassadors of Awareness Ties: A.J. Andrews (Professional Softball Player, First Female Rawlings Gold Glove Winner, ESPN Body Edition Feature), Dr. Dela Taghipour (Physician, ABC News/Good Morning America Medical Correspondent) and Thavius Beck (Iconic Musician, Producer & Electronic Music Educator). To set the tone for the discussion, a pre-show program will feature music by Caly Bevier & poetry from Aubree Danielle.

Presented by Awareness Ties, in partnership with ISSUU, the world’s largest digital discovery and distribution platform, Awareness Talks will be produced by KNEKT, known for production of the Daytime Emmy Awards. At 8pm on Tuesday, October 20, the live broadcast will be available on Apple TV, Roku and online at www.awarenesstalks.com. There will also be live-stream feeds on all major social media platforms.
