Medical and Technology Visionaries Join Forces at Eighth Annual Breast Cancer Education Event
Today, Aesthetx announced that its co-founder, Dr. Kamakshi R. Zeidler, will host her eighth annual BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) Day event. Set to take place at the Toll House in Los Gatos on October 24th, 2019 from 6:30-8:30pm, BRA Day 2019 will focus on the education and support of women dealing with breast cancer. This inspiring event will benefit Cancer CAREpoint, a non-profit organization that provides personalized counseling, assistance, resources and education to all Silicon Valley cancer patients, families and caregivers.
“In 2019, an estimated 268,600 new invasive breast cancer cases1 are expected to be diagnosed and our goal is to make sure that patients are aware of the wide range of breast reconstruction options available to them,” said Dr. Zeidler, board certified plastic surgeon and one of the few women in the Bay Area formally trained in advanced breast reconstruction. “My patients are the inspiration behind this event and I am constantly amazed by the courage they show throughout their breast cancer journeys.”
This year, Aesthetx will be honoring renowned Silicon Valley breast surgeon, Dr. Carl Bertelsen, who is retiring this year after an amazing career. The first surgeon recruited to practice at Stanford’s new Cancer Center South Bay (CCSB), Dr. Bertelsen transformed CCSB into a thriving breast center and has been recognized for his clinical excellence in patient care of breast cancer.
“I am thrilled to be part of Aesthetx’s annual BRA Day event as it provides an incredible opportunity to educate the community about breast reconstruction and the vast number of technology advancements that directly benefit patients,” said Dr. Bertelsen.

BRA Day 2019 will also showcase a special photo installation from a photo shoot conducted by Teresa Trobbe of Fotos by T featuring 20 breast cancer survivors.
