2021-08-11 16:00:00 - Santa Barbara, California, United States - (PR Distribution™)

Align Foot & Ankle Center is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Nicole Mehr to its staff.

Dr. Mehr graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Nutrition and Exercise while also volunteering as an EMT where she learned firsthand medical experience. After graduating from Virginia Tech,  Mehr was accepted to the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA where she spent the next 4 years. She then moved on to complete her three-year residency training in advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in Kansas City, Missouri at Truman Medical Center. Dr. Mehr was then accepted to and completed a year of fellowship training at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta, GA.

With Mehr on board, the Santa Barbara office will now be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving patients convenient access to a wide variety of podiatric services.

Owned by Dr. Hai-En Peng, Align Foot & Ankle Center has locations in Camarillo and Santa Barbara, California. The practice focuses on conservative treatment of foot and ankle problems, relieving pain, and helping patients improve their mobility without surgery. If surgery is necessary, Dr. Peng uses the skills he developed during a three-year advanced surgical residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery to correct deformities in the soft tissue and bones, resulting in reduced discomfort and increased mobility.

Align Foot & Ankle Center offers foot and ankle surgery for a wide range of podiatric conditions, including bunions, arthritic bone spurs and joints, painful cysts, hammertoes, fractures, and soft tissue masses. Its experienced podiatrists also offer treatment for flat feet and ingrown toenails. For flat feet, Align Foot & Ankle Center offers custom orthotics, which provide arch support and cushion the heel and ball of the foot. Custom orthotics can even help correct the problems with body alignment that stem from having flat feet or fallen arches.

Align Foot & Ankle Center also offers shockwave therapy and diabetic foot care. Radial shockwave therapy uses sound waves to stimulate the tissue in the feet, relieving the pain caused by plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, neuromas, and other painful foot conditions. This form of therapy is non-invasive and provides faster relief than some surgical procedures, making it a convenient choice for anyone with foot pain. The practice also recently purchased a class IV cold laser that helps treat the same previously listed conditions. It offers more options for relieving pain.  People with diabetes often suffer from slow wound healing. Due to nerve damage in the feet, they may not even realize they have cuts, blisters, or other injuries to their feet and ankles. Align Foot & Ankle Center specializes in detecting diabetic foot problems and treating them before they cause serious complications, helping diabetics live healthier, more comfortable lives.
