RALEIGH NC - 10/01/2018 (PRDistribution.com)
New fall Collection is expected to generate buzz around the globe with a fresh twist on the traditional art Burt is known for.Coordinating modern trends and inspired by IKAT prints, and vibrant color, this collection is redefining sacred art.
The Soar Collection has been months in the creative stage with excitement and deliberate thought going into each piece. The series consists of a combination of 30 paintings of The Blessed Mother, Mary as well as the popular saint “San Pasqual”, and his alluring and enchanting spirit. He is the patron saint of anything “foodie”.
All of these pieces are one-of-a-kind original artwork painted in and on vintage 1960’s Monkey Pod Wood! These are small hand-carved bowls and platters each completely unique.Bright vibrant colors and patterns make up the background of the pieces using colored inks and gold leaf as embellishments.San Pasqual is painted on both old kitchen cheese boards and cutting boards.
All pieces are ready to hang with no need for framing. Each piece is signed by the artist and dated on the back along with hand written title of the piece.
The Timing for the release of the collection is perfect for those who look to getting a head start on the Christmas shopping season. Each piece promises a perfectly unique and unforgettable memory that will last a lifetime.
Regarding the “Soar Collection” Burt stated “I became inspired first by these sweet little wooden bowls I found at the flea market.Immediately they struck me as small mini-shrines perfect to hang anywhere! They are a specific wood called Monkey Pod Wood, which primarily comes from Hawaii and the Philippines and was popular in the 1960’s.They seemed to call for a new and modern vibe that would bring them and the subject matter into the current era!So with beautiful vibrant color and eye catching design patterns I began painting these mini-shrines with the most beautiful image I could possibly use, the Blessed Mother, Mary.Another inspirational find was a group of old vintage cheese boards and even one fudge paddle, hence the significance of San Pasqual the Kitchen Saint to round out the collection.
The name “Soar” is attributed to the joy I found creating each piece literally lifting my heart.I couldn’t wait to finish one and start the next!My spirit seemed to soar to new heights planning and executing each piece. It is an honor to finally share this new collection with you so that you too might find in each unique piece an unforgettable joy that lifts your heart.
