ASDIP Structural Software Announces The Launch Of ASDIP RETAIN 5

2022-01-12 12:00:00 - Orlando, FL, United States - (PR Distribution™)

ASDIP Structural Software has launched their fifth installment of the ASDIP RETAIN series, a structural engineering software created for retaining wall designs, promising newer features and benefits.

ASDIP RETAIN 5 is the newest release in the company's series of structural engineering software, coming in as the fifth installment in the series with sharper details, improved user experience, and a brand new module.

With new features like user-defined load combinations, sheet pile retaining walls, and improved graphic tabs, this software provides an efficient graphical user interface that allows users to model their retaining walls efficiently without compromising the level of details.

ASDIP RETAIN 5 also helps structural engineers optimize their design by helping them meet the design code provisions. Additionally, the software generates, organizes, manages, and stores electronic calculations safely, providing efficiency by eliminating the need to perform manual calculations.

The structural engineering software has four main wall design module features: cantilever retaining wall design, counterfort retaining wall design, basement retaining wall design, and sheet pile retaining wall design.

Here are the four main wall design modules and their unique features:

  • Cantilever Retain Wall Design: This retaining wall design involves the evaluation of the stability of the structure under the service load and creating the components, including stem, heel, toe, and key. The stem material can either be masonry or concrete, and the program can accept various load cases such as wind, seismic, and surcharge (uniform, strap, and/or concentrated).  The construction images are presented with rebars, and the end product is of a sharp graphical quality.
  • Counterfort Retaining Wall Design: Made to reinforce cantilever retaining walls, counterforts are vertical components positioned perpendicular to the cantilever stem. This allows for seamless modeling with numerous load types and cases. In addition, the interpretation of results is made easy by sorting according to load combination and supporting soil and pile types. Lateral pressures can be calculated by Equivalent Fluid, Rankine, or Coulomb theories and methods.
  • Basement Retaining Wall Design: Enables easy modeling for up to two stories and allows multiple load types and cases. In addition, the program can accept pinned or fixed bases and produce a graphical presentation of shear and moment diagrams for structural analysis. This design module provides you more versatility in the customization of design and can generate high-quality reports of pre-formatted detailed and condensed calculations.
  • Sheet Pile Retaining Wall Design: This design module is suitable for cantilever and anchored types and can model up to four soul properties layers. The program will provide you with a graphical presentation and detailed calculations of wall pressures, embedment depth., combined loads, deflection, and shear and moment diagrams.

"Our aim for developing this structural software was to empower and improve the lives of structural engineers who regularly work with various types of retaining wall designs. With sharper graphical details and a user-centric navigation function, this design tool is created to be intuitive to use and maximize efficiency," said Mr. Javier Encinas, founder of ASDP Structural Software.

"As structural engineers ourselves, we want to design a user interface that provides our customers the ability to make models easily without spending time working out the manual calculations and worrying whether they adhere to the design code provisions." Mr. Encinas added.
