Balance RVA is now open, making it the first and only coworking space to offer on-site childcare in Central VA.
Perfect for small business owners, entrepreneurs and remote/virtual employees, Balance RVA is a new coworking space that provides access to all the amenities of a high-tech, modern office in Richmond’s West End. However, unlike other coworking spaces in Central Virginia, it is also the only one to offer parent-friendly perks as well, including on-site childcare.
“Technology is amazing, but it has thinned - and in some cases, even annihilated - the seam between work life and personal life,” says Juri Miller, both a working parent herself and Balance RVA’s owner. “In today’s digital world, it’s no longer about work-life balance… it’s about work-life integration. We’re here because parents should not have to choose between their careers and their families; they can and deserve to have both.”
In Miller’s 10,000+ sq ft building located in the heart of the West End, members take advantage of the latest in office technology - including commercial printers, high-end conference rooms and electronic Smart Boards - and work without distraction, while trained Balance RVA staff entertain their kids down the hall. Children ages 0-12 are immersed in Balance RVA’s “Kidpreneur” program, led by Balance RVA’s dedicated Early Development Director. “We’re not just a baby-sitting service,” Miller says. “We design and execute age-appropriate programs that help our children develop the entrepreneurial spirit, innovation mindset and problem-solving skills that are absolutely necessary in today’s workforce,” Miller explains.
Balance RVA offers private office and dedicated desk rentals, as well as monthly and daily “Full Access” passes. In addition to the Kidpreneur Program, members have access to conference rooms with A/V capabilities; event/offsite space; mail reception services; full-time receptionist; soundproof Podcast studio; nursing/meditation room; on-site gym; community kitchen with free premium coffee, organic tea and filtered water; and Balance RVA’s unique Board of Coaches (industry pioneers with a passion for mentoring.)
