Becton Dickinson (BD), a Fortune 500 medical device company, is accusing long time employee Minh Hoang of stealing trade secrets.
Minh Hoang has plead “not guilty.” He is contending that BD is retaliating against him because after he was assigned to correct legal and regulatory violations on BD products, he refused to sign agreements to keep such matters confidential. After he refused to sign the agreements, BD went to the prosecutor’s office to start a criminal investigation.
Minh Hoang was a Vietnamese refugee who fled communism. For 27 years, he worked for BD inventing and developing hospital supplies and devices that protect patients from infections.
Trial in this case is scheduled for January 6, 2020. Case Number: 2:17-CR-00444. U.S. District Court, District of Utah; 351 S W Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.
