Effective immediately, Carter Eye Center is no longer providing optical services. The full-service ophthalmology practice is moving to an exclusive focus on ophthalmic surgery, including laser vision correction and cataract surgery.
As the longtime Dallas practice prepares to move to a new flagship location in North Dallas, founder and chief surgeon Dr. Harvey Carter wanted to focus exclusively on delivering the best possible surgical outcomes for his laser vision correction and cataract surgery patients.
“We recently donated our entire inventory of lenses, frames and equipment to Cedar Springs Vision, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vision care services, educational opportunities and community engagement to low-income communities and individuals in the Dallas area,” said Dr. Carter.
The team at Carter Eye Center is also using this transition as an opportunity to fully develop and optimize the practice’s co-management program with area optometrists. “Co-management is a fantastic way for surgeons and doctors of optometry to provide better vision to everyone,” said Dr. Carter. “We believe co-management should seamlessly extend a doctor’s services while keeping him or her at the center of their patient’s experience.”
