BLOCKSYTE ANNOUNCES ENTERPRISE VERSION OF ITS SAAS-BASED BLOCKCHAIN APPLICATION FOR FOOD INDUSTRY SUPPLY CHAIN

05/15/2019 07:00 - United States, New Hampshire, Nashua - (PR Distribution™)

Latest offering is designed to be compliant with blockchain guidelines from industry leaders including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Albertsons, and IBM Food Trust

Blocksyte, a SaaS-based blockchain application company focused on the food industry supply chain, today announced the availability of its Version III SaaS-based blockchain application with a comprehensive suite of multi-feature tracking sensors, specifically designed for enterprise customers.

“Following the successful introduction of our mid-market application earlier this year, we have been encouraged by the response from enterprises in the food industry who are ready to embrace the benefits of an easy-to-deploy end-to-end blockchain application,” said Alan Pelz-Sharpe, Blocksyte CEO and Co-founder.  “With the launch of our enterprise application, we can better serve the unique requirements of this class of customers.”

The Blocksyte application enables enterprises to track and measure shipments across six attributes while storing this data as an immutable record on the Blocksyte blockchain, underpinned by IBM.  Blocksyte has added new capabilities designed for the needs of enterprise customers.  These include:

• Smart contract templates to enable the full utilization of the blockchain for invoicing, inventory, adjustments, and other features

• Small-footprint IoT sensors to track location, temperature, humidity, light, and tampering

• API that enables the integration of the Blockchain application with existing fleet and warehouse sensors, a substantial investment which enterprises are seeking to preserve

• User permissions, both intra-company and inter-company, so that enterprises can view, in real time, the status of their shipments throughout their partner supply chain

• Robust reporting and analytics options to better access the rich data that the Blocksyte application produces, and enable enterprises to leverage this data for their business needs

The food industry is accelerating its adoption of blockchain solutions, and the enterprise version of the Blocksyte application has been designed to be compliant with mandates or guidelines from leading food retailers such as Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Albertsons, as well as IBM Food Trust.  Blocksyte provides an option for companies who want to utilize blockchain without investing in expensive, custom solutions that can take months to deploy.  In comparison, the ‘plug and play’ Blocksyte application can be up and running in as little as 48 hours.
Blocksyte is deployed on four continents and has a proven application to meet the needs of enterprise supply chains, which are often more distributed and complex, and require advanced capabilities.  Added Pelz-Sharpe, “blockchain shows no signs of slowing down in the food supply chain market and as the industry awakens to the myriad benefits an end-to-end blockchain solution provides to all companies – mid-market to enterprise and everywhere in between – Blocksyte will be there to help them.”
