Transportation Industry Sees Light at the End of Tunnel with Government Partnerships

BusQuote USA was finally able to get back to business after being closed for almost a year due to the pandemic. BusQuote USA is a private charter bus company, partnered with the Air Force to provide attendees with transportation during the 2021 Sound of Speed Airshow in St. Joseph, MO on May 1 - May 2, 2021.

Bus Quote USA provided buses that were used to transport people from the four parking lots      “Transportation is critical. Whether it’s a show of this size where we had to put on a limit to make sure folks are safe but also in a bigger show where you don’t necessarily have a daily cap on attendance. Transportation is critical, it makes or breaks the show,” said Captain Owen Compton, Director of the Sound of Speed Airshow and 139th Airlift Wing Open House.

Since the pandemic has harshly affected countless small businesses, including Bus Quote USA, opportunities such as this partnership allow small businesses to get back to business. Additionally, BusQuote USA was able to provide several temporary jobs to St. Joseph residents for bus dispatcher

“Nobody is going to the amusement parks, nobody is going on vacations via bus, so a lot of the bus companies that were vibrant pre-COVID have closed down and it’s really sad to see this, and this industry needs the money so bad, just to stay afloat,” said Bus Quote USA VP, Michael Saburro.

A study conducted by CharterUp revealed that from April to July 2020 alone, business had decreased 95% across all private bus companies and that 72% of companies have stopped operations altogether as a result of the pandemic. According to the American Bus Association, more than 100,000 workers have been furloughed in this industry, with an estimated 83% of the industry’s full-time workers now unemployed. With bus operators making up just one part of the overall transportation within the travel and tourism industry in the U.S, nearly 2 million full-time equivalent jobs rely on the passengers transported by the operators on tours, charters, and scheduled and commuter routes. As of April 2021, it is now expected that about $10.9 billion in sales have been lost due to the shutdown.

BusQuote USA partner, Arrow Stage Lines brought a new fleet of Motor Coaches to safely, effectively and comfortably transport attendees. Our partners across the country make our business work. We value our relationships especially with Arrow Stage Lines. Anthony Vaccarello, President BusQuote USA. BusQuote USA aims to continue to do partnerships with the government.
