Miles Dennison Leads Proven Team of CannaVu and Trion Interactive Founders
CannaVu, the largest curated collection of compliant advertising for Canna-/CBD marketers, today announced a merger with Trion Interactive, the leading mobile advertising platform for “big brand” response advertising. The move adds an in-house digital marketing platform (DMP), dynamic “build your own ad” creative capabilities, enhanced programmatic inventory availability and drive-to-location advertising services. Newly merged company will be known as Trion.io and led by Miles Dennison, as CEO. Dennison previously led CannaVu and drove this merger. Trion.io to operate three distinct and separate brands at the time of merger, CannaVu, Trion Interactive and Trion.io. CannaVu will be focused on compliant cannabis and CBD advertising and launch new-to-segment offerings utilizing Trion technology. The Trion Interactive brand will continue to focus on CPG campaigns, a well-known strength, as well as QSR, retail, lottery, tourism, healthcare and foot traffic/footfall campaigns. Miles Dennison leads Trion.io as CEO. Prior to CannaVu, Dennison co-founded and sold video advertising start-up, TriVu Media to Adknowledge in 2014. Dennison has a notable track record of success and led a who’s who of digital advertising sales organizations, including at 33Across, AdParlor, BlinQ Media, DoubleVerify and Tremor Media. Dennison also has deep connections with premium media/publishers, having worked at CNet Media and the International Data Group. No stranger to building out first-to-market advertising opportunities, Miles Dennison has a vision for migrating the compliant cannabis & CBD advertising market from low-volume endemic advertising to mainstream programmatically delivered programs that can execute at scale, like commonly done daily with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), a Trion Interactive specialty.

CannaVu’s Paul Calento will be Chief Marketing Officer, with a primary focus on the CannaVu brand, leveraging 25+ years of marketing and executive-level media experience. Calento will also be leading the merger transition team. Trion Interactive’s Al Shermer is Chief Revenue Officer, with all sales division heads reporting to him. Shermer was previously CEO for Trion Interactive. Tom Kohler continues as Chief Operating Officer for the new business, including overall management of the programmatic business. Vincenzo Penza expands his role as Chief Technology Officer across the newly merged Trion.io. The combined team represents a customer-orientation, proven expertise and a “let’s try it” attitude to propel the new company to what’s expected to be 3x+ growth in 2020. All employees of both companies to continue post-merger, with new hires expected.
