Los Angeles, CA - August 8, 2018 - 8th Annual Walk Around the Park, an event scheduled to take place during the community festival “Taste of Ladera” on August 18th, is going to be an unforgettable event that will recognize and honor the youth of Ladera who give back to their community. The celebrity walk will begin early Saturday afternoon with a photo opportunities will begin at the community stretch at 1:30 pm. The event is co- sponsored by Los Angeles County Parks and Recreations and is taking place at Ladera Park. Walk Around The Park will be providing complimentary soft drinks, food, live painting, jazz on the main stage, and giveaways.
Celeb guests include event host Nephew Tommy (Steve Harvey Morning Show), California State Senator Holly Mitchell, Kevon Looney (NBA, World Champion- Golden State Warriors), Dawn Strozier, (Celebrity Trainer, the cast of Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian), Actor/Director Wings Hauser, (Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-O) and many more.
Ladera All Star summer camp, youth players receive sports training and are mentored in life skills. The summer camp provides lessons that offset and ease many of the negative factors which impact youth in the Los Angeles community. These positive intervals occur during the hours of 4:30-6:30 pm, on weekends, and other important times in the lives of our players. An important factor for the collaborative effort is the current reduction and elimination from the regular school days of sports programs. The Walk Around The Park is a quick walk that is approximately 15 minutes, but means so much.

ABOUT LADERA ALL STAR AND WALK AROUND THE PARK
Ladera All-Star 8 provides training June through August, teaching new skills throughout the summer culminating in a multipurpose and multicultural public-benefit family event, which strengthens ties to the community. The basketball fitness and the “Walk Around the Park” offers resources to an underserved group of young people. Youth participants have an avenue to gain professional instruction in sports and fitness. In addition, a number of professionals have become involved, these professionals / athletes donate time to training and mentoring components.
