Congresswoman Annie Kuster is scheduled to visit Foxx Life Sciences this Friday, November 22, 2019 from approximately 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. On the agenda is a tour of the facility and discussions with business managers regarding EXIM reauthorization and workforce issues. Local media outlets are welcome to attend.

With strong bipartisan support for the EXIM Bank, recent Congressional legislation was introduced to reauthorize the Bank for 10 years. EXIM (Export-Import Bank of the United States) was created in 2015 as an independent federal agency that supports American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. It supported more than 1.7 million jobs in all 50 states over the last decade and in New Hampshire, companies have reported 75% international sales growth over the last three years, with exports now comprising 60% of their overall sales.

“Foxx Life Sciences would like to thank Congresswoman Kuster for taking interest in one of New Hampshire’s small business success stories and engaging with us to assist the company’s continued success.” stated President & CEO, Thomas Taylor.

Foxx currently exports to about a dozen countries. In the last year, EXIM has backed nearly $1 million in export value for them. EXIM is critical to small businesses, as it brings much needed certainty and protection to tackle new markets, expand, and create jobs. By helping American companies sell their products in more global markets, the EXIM Bank allows those same businesses to hire more workers here at home and boost economic growth in our communities. “The EXIM program is invaluable to Foxx Life Sciences as it allows us to have access to short-term working capital that would otherwise be unavailable. These funds are essential for growing the New Hampshire economy and more importantly New Hampshire jobs.” added Thomas Taylor.

Some of the current workforce issues facing New Hampshire employers include shortage of available qualified labor, and limited labor force population. Several factors may be culprits including New Hampshire’s lack of affordable housing and childcare, high level of substance abuse and limited public transportation. These are items in dire need of repair for New Hampshire’s continued success.

“With annual sales growth increasing more than 40 percent each year for 6 of the past 7 years, Foxx has doubled the number of employees 6 times over the past ten years while struggling to overcome the obstacles around an aging workforce and record low unemployment.” stated Finance Director, Tim Hockey.
