A large 15-oz (455 ml) contemporary-design cup, CONUNDRUMUG is covered with puzzling illustrations and beautiful line drawings that hide within them a series of puzzles and mysteries.
The creator of CONUNDRUMUG is Rain Projects, known for creative puzzle items and experiences, including the category-defining Journal 29 book game.
The Kickstarter campaign aims to fund the creation of two editions of CONUNDRUMUG:
- The Butterfly edition, centered around a mysterious drawing of a Lepidoptera specimen in the final stage of its life cycle, surrounded by strange geometric forms, each possibly hiding their own enigmatic secrets.
- The limited J29 edition is inspired by Journal 29, the popular puzzle book about the fate of an expedition in the hunt of an alien artifact. It was published in 2017 and translated in German, Polish, French, Italian and Russian. Journal 29 was followed by the sequel puzzle book Journal 29 Revelation, which was launched on Kickstarter and published in 2019.
The goal is $10,000, and the campaign will run until 7 May 2021. The Butterfly Edition of CONUNDRUMUG is available for $19, while the bundle together with the J29 edition is $29.
A curious series of numbers found on the campaign’s page may lead to yet another puzzle, with backers possibly uncovering more riddles and secrets throughout the duration of the campaign and beyond…
