DIY Salon Services with Real-Time Stylist Tutorial

MARIN COUNTY, California – After weeks of sheltering in place due to COVID-19, are your roots starting to show? Got the frizzies? Need a trim, but can’t imagine taking your hair problems into your own hands? A Bay Area hairdresser has the answer: Home-delivered salon services and real-time virtual coaching.

Nicole Hitchcock is a popular hairstylist who has owned her Marin County salon, NH2 (https://www.nh2salon.com) for 13 years. After hearing her clients lamenting about their roots, Hitchcock, whose Novato salon is closed to avoid spreading COVID-19, came up with a solution

“Lots of my clients are working from home and communicating with colleagues and clients via teleconferencing video services like Zoom and Skype,” Hitchcock said. “They need to keep up a professional appearance. Also, it’s a big hit to a person’s morale when their hair doesn’t look good.”

With that in mind, Hitchcock invented what she calls NH2 Touchless, a reengineered version of her ‘high-touch’ salon, available at https://www.nh2salon.com

“Clients can hit the website to set up a virtual appointment,” Hitchcock said. “We offer free delivery anywhere in the U.S. They’ll get a totally customized service, like we provide in-salon. We take the risk out of doing your own hair by working with you, every step of the way.”

Root touch-ups, keratin smoothing treatments and haircuts are all available, with all equipment and product delivered and a real-time coaching session.

Phone consultations are also available

With that in mind, Hitchcock hopes to help ease the stress and uncertainty faced by women and men isolated at home by the orders forbidding contact.

“It can really brighten your day to get your hair done. In these times, we need all the morale-boosters we can get,” Hitchcock said.

The hairstylist has a history of giving back over her 13 years owning her salon. She offers free haircuts to people with cancer. She does it in memory of her sister, who died of cancer.

“I remember how brave my sister was when she was diagnosed,” Hitchcock said. “She only broke down and cried when she learned she would lose her hair.”

With that in mind, Hitchcock hopes to help ease the stress and uncertainty faced by women and men isolated at home by the orders forbidding contact.
