Digital Asset Research Launches Crypto Catalyst Calendar, Demonstrates Important Events Can Significantly Impact Price of Cryptocurrencies

Digital Asset Research, Inc. (“DAR”), the world’s leading provider of cryptocurrency research and data for institutional investors, has launched a calendar tracking important events across cryptocurrency markets called the Crypto Catalyst Calendar. These data feeds include blockchain data and market intelligence information.

The calendar lists events such as hard forks, soft forks, client software updates, main network launches, airdrops, conferences, exchange listings, and third-party application support, like hardware wallets.

Gregory Cipolaro, CEO of DAR, explains: “We know that catalytic events can significantly impact the price of digital assets. We identified and explored one type of such an event, main network launches, publicly. Our research shows that main network launches have been significant drivers of alpha for active managers. The point of our Crypto Catalyst Calendar then, it to identify these high-impact events and alert managers of their occurrence, a challenge for organizations given the nearly two thousand cryptocurrencies that trade 24/7 around the globe.”

The Crypto Catalyst Calendar also includes forks and airdrops, which are increasingly seen as dividends within the cryptocurrency community.

Cipolaro continues: “Forks and airdrops are increasingly viewed as passive income for holders of cryptocurrencies. Many owners are simply not aware they may be entitled to such dividends. In addition, active managers that are short cryptocurrencies may be required to deliver these types of dividends in the future. Finally, service providers that run their own nodes, like exchanges, wallets, and custodians may be required to update their nodes, particularly in the event of a hard fork.”
