With over two decades of achievements in her field, Dr. Bingman is well-versed in child and adolescent psychiatry diagnosing and treating patients at OU Physicians, the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Schusterman Center Clinic. She is part of one of Oklahoma’s largest physician group and practices in the Department of Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Board certified in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Bingman also has special training in mood disorders. She is a sought-after practitioner in her field, who has received five-star ratings from her patients for expertise, trustworthiness and bedside manner.
Dr. Bingman’s journey began as a high school teacher. She worked in the public school system for 17 years before turning her love of helping children into a medical career. With a true understanding of adolescents and teens, Dr. Bingman followed her heart to become a Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist. She obtained her medical degree from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Medicine in 2003. She then completed her general psychiatry residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Bingman also received a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals, in Salt Lake City.
One of Dr. Bingman’s most notable achievements is her position as the Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at the University of Oklahoma, School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is a fully accredited training program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within the Department of Psychiatry which has been training physicians for more than 30 years.
The two-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship program at OUSCM is an innovative, well-balanced, and comprehensive training program. The first year is a partial hospital program and consult-liaison services at Saint Francis Children’s Hospital. The second year of the program focuses on neuro-developmental disabilities, community child mental health, forensics, school-based mental health services in Union Public Schools, eating disorders at Laureate Psychiatric Institute, and adolescent substance abuse treatment at Tulsa Boys’ Home.
To stay abreast of the latest developments in her field, Dr. Bingman holds professional memberships and affiliations with the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychological Association. She is affiliated with the Children's Hospital at St. Francis, Laureate Psychiatric Clinic & Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital-Tulsa, St. Francis Heart Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital.
Dr. Bingman holds both a Texas and Oklahoma medical license and is interested in all aspects of child and adolescent psychiatry, but particularly the complexities of mood disorders. She has received recognition in her field by her peers and today, for her passion and dedication to patient care, she holds the title of Patient Preferred Psychiatrist for 2020.
