Dr. Reagan Flowers selected for IAOTP's Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Reagan Flowers is Chief Knowledge Officer for Education Consulting Services (ECS) and President & CEO of C-STEM Teacher Student and Support Services (C-STEM). She was recently chosen to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for 2022 given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

 

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members are chosen for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. These special honorees are distinguished based on their longevity in their fields, their contributions they have made to society and the impact they have had on their industries. Furthermore, Dr. Reagan Flowers recently attended IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. She received her recognition as an Empowered Woman of the Year for 2021 and her award from 2020 as Top Educational Innovator of the Year.

Dr. Reagan Flowers is being recognized as a Lifetime Achievement Awardee for dedicating more than two decades of her life’s work as a Visionary Educator and as a proficient Program Administrator. She has certainly proven herself as an extraordinary and driven. She is an expert in the field of STEM education and consulting services for the educational needs of students. Dr. Flowers is a dynamic results-driven leader who has demonstrated success not only as an Educational Innovator, but in every role, she has ever served.

 

As Chief Knowledge Officer for ECS, she provides education innovation, diversity and inclusion, and workforce development advisory services to clients which include national foundations, educational institutions, and Fortune 500 companies. Working with organizations tasked with tackling tough issues related to equitable education, social mobility, economic disparity, and diversity and inclusion is a personal mission and passion for Dr. Flowers. Over her career, she has been able to leverage her love for STEM, education, and people to successfully advocate for access to the right opportunities for those who need it most.

 

In 2002, Dr. Flowers founded C-STEM Teacher and Student Support Services, Inc., an organization committed to helping students achieve complete mastery of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through interactive projects that foster creativity, embrace open communication, and stimulate curiosity. C-STEM produces comprehensive STEM Educational Toolkits and curriculum for PreK-12 students, supporting educators and school districts across the continent. During the first five years of C-STEM’s operation, she spear-headed fund development and grew the annual program budget from 10,000 to over $500,000.

 

Her STEM Education teaching methods focus on communications and project-based experiential learning. Dr. Flowers is committed to actively collaborating with colleagues and community members to expand opportunities and create superior educational outcomes for every student. Dr. Flowers’ programs have guided and supported the development of STEM instructional leaders, helped with school design, created more community engagement, and integrated specialized tech tools and resources. She has increased minority and female engagement in STEM and provided public policy advocacy and scaled programs successfully.

 

In addition to her successful career, Dr. Flowers is active on the frontlines of education and workforce development issues. Her leadership resulted in her election to the Board of Trustees for the Houston Community College System. Dr. Flowers is the Vice Chair and has an exemplary track record of education advocacy, community stakeholders’ engagement, and business understanding. She also serves on the Audit Committee with an oversight budget of $400 million.

 

Dr. Flowers has served as a National Board Member for the American Leadership Forum for 7 years and served as a Board Member for the City of Bellaire Patron’s Board, which supports the environment for 2 years. She was a Board Member for the Houston Public Library HALAN Board for Education for 5 years and was previously Chairman of the TBEC STEAM Education Sub-Committee for Education for 3 years. Dr. Flowers has also served as one of the heads of the Minority Leadership in Science Education Initiative for the Smithsonian Institution over the last 5 years. Dr. Flowers established STEMcast, her podcast which has over 6,000 listeners in over 42 countries.

 

Dr. Flowers is a Certified Classroom Teacher and School Counselor in the State of Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Southern University, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University in 2000. Dr. Flowers went on to receive a PhD in Educational Leadership/Systems in 2006 from Union Institute & University. 

 

Dr. Flowers’ areas of expertise include serving as a Transformational Leader who has a proven track record in building relationships and productive partnerships, and she has gained national recognition for bridging the STEM achievement gap that impacts minorities and female students. As a Motivational Manager, Dr. Flowers assists both staff and students in developing their talents, while she oversees C-STEM’s programs and operations. Dr. Flowers has maximized beneficial outcomes for students and faculty, by raising funds and administering program budgets efficiently, crediting to her expert financial and business management skills. 

 

Throughout her remarkable career, Dr. Flowers has received many awards and accolades, and has been recognized in numerous publications and magazines worldwide for her outstanding leadership roles and commitment to the Education Industry. She was featured in TIP Magazine and was broadcast on the famous Reuters Building in Times Square, NYC. This year she will considered for an exclusive interview on TIP Radio by the International l Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).

 

Dr. Flowers has other notable awards which include, in 2014 she was honored by the White House as the STEM Access Champion of Change. She was also honored as a STEMconnector in 2012, under the 100 Women Leaders in STEM. Dr. Flowers was the WISE Global Award Finalist in 2011 at the World Innovation Summit for Education and has received many other merits while she has cultivated change and instilled educational processes for STEM.

 

Looking back, Dr. Flowers attributes her success to her desire to learn, her persistence to lead, a commitment to attaining specific goals, and mentors she has had the honor to work alongside of. She maintains high integrity in all her professional and personal endeavors and is committed to lifting up the next generation of leaders. When not working, she enjoys traveling the world, the culinary arts and spending time with her family.  For the future, Dr. Flowers will continue making a difference in people’s lives though her educational support and knowledge. She hopes to encourage learning and most of all help students succeed.
