She completed her internship at the New York University Langone Medical Center, and went on to complete her residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital (now Mt. Sinai St. Lukes and Mt. Sinai Roosevelt), 1994. She also has fellowship training from the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and is board certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
To keep abreast of the latest developments in her field, Dr. Halpern holds professional memberships with the Society for Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons. Prior to her position at the Phoenix VA health Care System, Dr. Halpern served as Attending Vascular Surgeon and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Wound Care Center at North Shore/LIJ System (1995-2008), and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
