On July 14th, Auctions at Showplace will present the first of two summer auctions featuring choice offerings from an important silver collection in addition to other luxury items of the first order. Spanning centuries and continents, the collection boasts pieces from the Americas, Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Asia spanning the 18th century to the present representing examples from the world’s leading silversmiths including Tiffany, Buccellati, Cartier, Marcus & Company, Georg Jensen and others.

Among many highlights is a handsome Tiffany & Co. oversize footed centerpiece bowl with Neoclassical motifs. Other finely detailed silver includes an Emile Puiforcat 19th century French silver shell-form pitcher with a merman handle, a Buccellati water pitcher and ice bucket with ornate floral repousse decoration, a William Reynolds of Cork rare Irish sterling silver gilt repousse "Freedom Box” circa 1760, and a Robert Gray & Son Scottish presentation bowl circa 1805. 

A robust selection of mid-century modern furniture and design includes a Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller lounge chair and ottoman, an Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia sectional sofa, a Diego Giacometti manner bronze glass top console table and round wall mirror set, a Warren Platner for Knoll steel and glass top coffee table, and a set of four Niels Moller for Koefoeds Hornslet “Lis” side chairs.

Luxury timepieces are strongly represented by an E. Gubelin Lucerne Neoclassical incline plane 7-Day gilt-metal clock with marble base, a Rolex 18K yellow gold and stainless steel two-tone Oyster Perpetual Datejust gentleman’s wristwatch along with a similar ladies’ counterpart with diamond set bezel and hour markers, an Omega Speed Master Professional stainless steel wristwatch, a Gerard Perregaux diamonds and stainless steel date watch, a Chopard Geneve stainless steel skeleton watch, a Movado Art Deco platinum and diamonds ladies’ watch, a selection of handsome clocks by Tiffany, Cartier, and Edward Farmer, and other watches by Tissot, Jules Jurgensen, Jaeger LeCoultre, Pascal Morabito, Montblanc, and Gruen. 

Fine art by hotly sought after artists feature a charming oil on board by Hunt Slonem depicting woodpeckers, a Maitland Graves oil on canvas portrait of a woman, two large Art Brenner abstract mixed media works, Whistler’s “Soupe a Trois Sous” etching, a Jules Pascin watercolor depicting women and children, and an Agustin Fernandez portfolio of seven drypoints entitled “Le Mille Pattes.”
