Workers' Compensation in North Carolina is an important part of any employee's employment right. When an individual is diagnosed with an occupational disease or experiences a work-related injury, he or she may be eligible for medical and financial compensation.

The Workers’ Compensation Act designed to alleviate the complexity and difficulty of settling differences between employees and their employers.  It aims to provide the assurance that injured workers can get on with their lives as quickly as possible.

For example, an employee may have sustained a blunt trauma injury from a fall from height. As the worker is protected by North Carolina Workers’ Compensation law, he or she can file a claim with the North Carolina Industrial Commission. If approved, they may receive payment for lost wages, permanent impairment, and other forms of medical treatment, e.g., surgery and/or physical therapy.

In order to help workers better understand their Workers' Compensation rights, our Book covers the core fundamentals of how the law (in general) works. With this Book, you will find several chapters, including:

  • Work Comp Primer: Must-know basics for workers who are learning about Workers' Compensation for the first time.
  • Injury by Accident "IBA": Explaining the types of injuries that the Workers' Compensation Act covers.
  • Credibility is Everything: If an injured worker lacks credibility, his or her claim will most likely be denied. Find out what you need to do.
  • Comply with Medical Treatment: If your employer's insurance company accepts the claim under North Carolina Workers' Compensation law, you must comply with the medical treatment chosen by them.

… and more!

If you don't want to get bogged down by work-related problems such as reduced earning capacity or not knowing what to do if you suffer a compensable injury, this Book is made for you!
