Hein Ehlers, CEO of Devmark Property Group was selected as the CEO of the Decade for 2020 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for his prosperity, longevity and commitment to the property development industry.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only 1 male and 1 female professional in the property development industry are selected for this distinction. This member has demonstrated excellence in his field for over 30 years. Mr. Ehlers was honored at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas for his Business Innovator Award and his induction into IAOTP’s Hall of Fame for 2019. In December of this year, he will accept his nomination on stage at the Plaza Hotel in New York City as CEO of the Decade.
The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami stated that “Choosing Mr. Ehlers for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make. His skills of effectiveness, persistence and trustworthiness have shaped his role as a thriving CEO. He has devoted most of his life to financial management and property development, which we know has influenced many.”
Mr. Ehlers earned his MBA in Finance from Stellenbosch University and received his BSoc Sc Degree. He has shown success not only as a CEO & Managing Director, but has led the Devmark Property Group to be recognized as one of the top property development and investment companies in the Western Cape of South Africa. Mr. Ehlers key responsibilities for Devmark, is handling business strategy, implementation, marketing, project development, financial management, legal matters, property management and overseeing financial execution. His significant understanding of the property market in South Africa is the basis for his leadership.
Being recognized worldwide, Mr. Ehlers has received various awards, accolades and was featured in several publications. Beginning in 1998, Mr. Ehlers was recognized for his contributions to property in the Western Cape by the Institute of Marketing Management. For 2013, he was recognized by Worldwide Who’s Who for his outstanding leadership and commitment to property development. Bristol Who’s Who selected him in 2016 as Outstanding Professional of the Year and he was inducted into Worldwide Branding for his contributions to his industry. In 2018, he was named Top CEO of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals. He graced the front cover of T.I.P (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and was selected as Business Innovator of the Year for 2019 by IAOTP. Mr. Ehlers was inducted into IAOTP’s Hall of Fame last year and his professional growth is remarkable. For 2020, he will be considered for a billboard feature on the Reuters Building in Times Square, New York City.
As a well-respected businessman, when asked what he hopes to accomplish in the future: Mr. Ehlers stated: “We have recently made significant and exciting new investments in businesses like Samaritan Health Services. Samaritan design, commission and manage hospitals, day clinics, step-down and assisted living, frail care and dementia facilities. It has a pipeline of over 30 new projects. The Devmark Property Group will play an integral role in the development and construction of the new projects. Samaritan also supply health care services to all new retirement village developments of the Devmark Property Group.”
