HollyFrontier Awards Renewable Diesel EPCm Contract to KP Engineering
KP Engineering (“KPE”), an industry leader in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solutions, has been awarded an EPCm contract by Artesia Renewable Diesel Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of HollyFrontier Corporation (NYSE: HFC) to provide engineering, procurement services and construction management (EPCm) for the on-site portion of a new Renewable Diesel production facility to be located at HollyFrontier’s Artesia, New Mexico refinery.
The new Renewable Diesel Unit will produce 9,000 barrels/day of renewable diesel, produced completely from sustainable vegetable oils. The on-site portion of the plant is based on HydroFlex™ technology provided by Haldor Topsoe.
“KPE is excited to execute this innovative renewable diesel project for HollyFrontier” said William E. Preston, President and Chief Operating Officer of KPE. “This project is an important extension of our relationship with Haldor Topsoe and of the multiple projects that we have executed for HollyFrontier since 2004. KPE’s expertise and relationships uniquely position us to provide best-in-class engineering, design, and project execution for this project.”
Haldor Topsoe’s HydroFlex™ is an industry-proven sustainable technology that was chosen after an in-depth comparison study by HollyFrontier. KPE frequently utilizes Haldor Topsoe technologies in its design work.
“We are very pleased to be working with KPE on HollyFrontier’s strategic expansion into renewable fuels,” said Henrik Rasmussen, Vice President of Haldor Topsoe.
The RDU is scheduled to be in operation in the first quarter of 2022.
