Leah Williams was selected as Top Supply Chain Analyst of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP)

Leah Williams, Supply Chain Planning Analyst for Northrop Grumman Corporation was selected as Top Supply Chain Analyst of the Year for 2018 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership, performance, and commitment to the professional.  

While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, other affiliations, and contributions to their communities.  All honorees are invited to attend the IAOTP’s annual award gala at the end of this year for a night to honor their achievements. www.iaotp.com/award-gala

With only a few years of professional experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst, Leah has already proven herself as a talented and accomplished professional who wears many hats.  As a dynamic, results-driven leader, Leah has demonstrated success not only as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst for Northrop Grumman Corporation, but also as a speaker, scholar, advocate, events coordinator, and entrepreneur. Northrop Grumman, is an American global aerospace and defense technology company. Leah’s key responsibilities have included supplier diversity, data analysis, reporting, procurement, supplier management, and more.

Leah made history when she graduated from Delaware State University in 2015, as the first student to ever be awarded both the Presidential Academic Award for her 4.0 GPA all eight semesters, and the Presidential Leadership Award for her leadership throughout campus. Leah received both her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Economics (2015), as well as her Master of Business Administration (2016) from Delaware State University.During her time at DSU, Leah founded two organizations on campus which are still active today, served as a supplement instructor for multiple classes, tutored students, and mentored freshmen.Leah plays nine instruments and was a dedicated member of the marching, concert, jazz, and pep bands. Leah who is a member of 8 professional organizations, holding leadership positions in more than half, currently serves as the Vice President of Delaware State University’s National Alumni Association. The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Leah for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.She is a bright, talented young woman who has already accomplished so much and is passionate in giving back to her community.She is humble, gracious and brilliant at what she does and we felt she would make an amazing asset to our organization.We are looking forward to meeting her at the gala and know we will be seeing more amazing things from this incredible woman.” 

Throughout her illustrious career Leah has received awards, accolades, and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership, performance, and commitment to the profession. She has been featured on Aspire TV Network, the HBCU Nation Radio Show, Spend Matters, BlkWomenInBiz, and other media networks. For 2019, she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professional) Magazine and for the Top Female Executive Award by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP).This year, she was selected as Top Supply Chain Analyst of the Year by IAOTP and named by the Institute of Supply Management as one of the Top 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars in the Country for 2017.In 2016, Leah was selected by Delaware State University as one of their top 40 under/over alumni, and in 2015, she was selected by the White House to serve as a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) All-Star, supporting Former President Obama’s initiative to promote the excellence, innovation, and sustainability of HBCU’s.Leah represented Delaware State University at the HBCU conference, where she had the opportunity to introduce former Vice President Joseph Biden.

When not working, Leah plays on Northrop Grumman’s basketball, soccer, softball, and bowling teams. Leah also enjoys arranging music and performing with multiple ensembles. Leah serves as an advocate for Historically Black Colleges & Universities, and is a member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, as a result of being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the age of 22. Leah strives to be an inspiration to others who are battling illness. Leah has also continued to further her education by obtaining the Certified Supply Chain Professional Certification (CSCP), and is working to obtain her Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. 

Looking back, Leah attributes her success to her education, mentors, and support from family and friends. For the future, Leah, who hopes others will consider a career in supply chain, strives to make her mark on the world and in her community, any way she can.
