Macao, China welcomes new art and culture exhibitions as part of the recently launched initiative, ‘Art Macao’. After launching in April 2019, ‘Art Macao’ has imbued the region with creativity and now through October, travelers to Macao will experience a plethora of new massive public art displays, festivals, performances and more.
A few must-see Art Macao events include: “Sounding Street Art Festival” in October, which will invite street artists from around the world to showcase their work, and “Quietness and Clarity: Works of Chen Zhifo,” in the Nanjing Museum from August to November.
To further promote and introduce this initiative to U.S. consumers, Chicago residents were treated to sneak peek of Art Macao’s upcoming exhibitions and Macao happenings in a private event hosted on August 14, 2019. The event showcased Macanese-style art through a painting class, fan art, and Art Macao presentation by Macao Government Tourism Office representatives. What’s more, one lucky guest received a gift card to experience Macanese food at the local Macanese hot spot, Lucky Rice.

Outside of Art Macao, the region will be celebrating many large milestones this fall. In September visitors can experience the 30th Anniversary of Macao International Firework Contest. Each weekend from September 7 - October 5, 2019, fireworks from contesting teams all over the world will light up the Macao sky. In December, Macao will officially celebrate its 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Macao S.A.R. Sure to be fun for the whole family, parades and showcases will continue right into the launch of Macao’s Light Festival, lighting up the streets with stunning installations and light shows throughout the entire month.
