Natalie Rekstad, Founder & CEO at Black Fox Philanthropy, selected as 2019 Top Philanthropist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing the social sector.

As a dynamic, results-driven leader in business and philanthropy, Natalie has demonstrated tremendous impact not only through Black Fox Philanthropy, but as a strategic funder of issues facing women and girls.  “My core belief is that the future hinges upon a more just and gender balanced world,” she shares.  “Being a financial partner to organizations effectively bringing about equality is one vital approach, but the truth is my strategic mind outperforms my wallet so I began Black Fox Philanthropy to have far greater impact.”

Black Fox Philanthropy is a leading fundraising strategy firm serving global nonprofits that exists to accelerate the social sector’s effectiveness in solving complex problems on a global scale. As a B Corp, Black Fox Philanthropy measures the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit.

The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “Choosing Natalie for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make.  She is brilliant at what she does and has contributed so much of her wisdom and passion to help empower women and social sector professionals all over the globe.  She is humble, gracious and we felt she would make an amazing contributor to our organization.” In addition to being the 2019 Top Philanthropist of the year by IAOTP, she is a finalist for their Empowered Woman of the Year Award.

She has been featured in dozens of local and national media outlets including CBS, NBC, Sirius XM “Dollars & Change”, Huffington Post, Denver Woman Magazine (Cover Story), and has a featured profile in America’s Leading Ladies, which profiles 50 women in the US, such as Oprah Winfrey and Melinda Gates, who are having outsized impact.  Further, she is being featured in the international project  200 Women (who will change the way you see the world).  Natalie is also a sought after panelist, speaker and resource for a variety of organizations and universities on the topic of philanthropy, the social sector, and fundraising.  She is also a member of Women Moving Millions and an MCE Social Capital Guarantor; a delegate of the UN’s Commission on the Status of Women, a gender lens angel investor, serves on the Global Advisory Board of World Pulse, and is a newly minted member of Founders Pledge.

Natalie is also an award winning children’s book author: The Secret Adventures of Anonymouse is  a random acts of kindness/philanthropy picture book for at 3 - 6 year olds. It has been translated into over a dozen languages worldwide, reaching over 100 million children through a social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum designed by Think Equal based in the UK.

Looking back, Natalie attributes her success to perseverance and her focus upon service at the heart of all of her endeavors. When not working, she enjoys time in Paris among friends, and spending time with her family.
