Atlanta, GA—On November 10th, 2020 team members at New Acquisitions got the chance to participate in the 26th Annual J. Paul Austin Invitational Golf Tournament benefitting the Georgia Alzheimer’s Foundation. This foundation is important to New Acquisitions because this disease has effected so many people close to their hearts.
The J. Paul Austin Invitational Golf Tournament was started by Sam Austin to honor his father, who unfortunately passed away from Alzheimer's disease at age 70. This tournament is meant to honor Sam’s father’s memory while spending a day participating in his father’s favorite pastime. It’s an opportunity for supporters to raise awareness for a very important cause and enjoy a day of golfing on one of the most beautiful courses in Georgia. Beginning this year, proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Emory University. The Georgia Alzheimer’s Association is helping lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia.
The Peachtree Golf Club here in Atlanta is ranked the one of the best golf courses in Georgia, second only to the course at Augusta National. The course was built by Bobby Jones in 1947 and only has 225 members as it is considered highly exclusive. The Peachtree Clubhouse is one of the only buildings of which didn't burn down in Atlanta during the Civil War, which certainly adds to the allure of the club. The serenity and history of the club, is second to none.
New Acquisitions’ National Director, Adam Gerald stated, “It was an honor to not only play the course, but also raise money and awareness to support such an important cause.” The members at New Acquisitions were pleased to attend and support this fundraiser. With their dedication to promoting awareness to the latest Alzheimer’s research and news they hope to find a cure for this disease in the near future.
