NON-PROFIT PROGRAM SET TO SPUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AROUND ATLANTA AIRPORT

2021-08-13 14:00:00 - Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Atlanta, GA — The ATL Airport Chamber Inc. will inaugurate its Economic Ecosystems Development Program (AEEDP) at a launch reception on August 20.

As an international crossroads, the Atlanta airport brings significant commerce to residents and businesses in the immediate area. The ATL Airport Chamber (TAAC) commits itself to insuring that a range of businesses and community members can access this particular opportunity.

TAAC’s latest initiative, the Economic Ecosystems Development Program, is centered on socio-economic development—outreach efforts that provide growth opportunities for women, BIPOC, and veteran-owned firms. To achieve this overall strategy, TAAC seeks to establish an International Strategic Development Think Tank composed of experienced public and private sector professionals from within airports, governments, and corporations.

Among these figures, TAAC would like to see 250 strategically selected members serve as the program's Socio-Economic Development Engineers and International Thought Leaders. The representatives will develop relationships with the program’s 1,500 member companies and help serve underrepresented professionals.

The upcoming reception provides an occasion for TAAC’s CEO and Board of Directors to connect with figures looking to supporting the organization’s vision. By partnering with 750 small to mid-tier companies to secure long-term, sustainable contracting opportunities, the Economic Ecosystems Development Program will contribute substantially to the local and regional economy while enlarging TAAC’s larger vision of improving Atlanta’s business climate and promoting professional activities within the airport area.

The AEEDP launch also serves as a valuable business-to-business networking forum for individuals and companies looking to collaborate and invested in the development of the community.

TAAC members both access and contribute to:

• Industry-leading knowledge from U.S.-based and international thought leaders.

• Programs focused on the inclusion, growth, and sustainability of emerging firms.

• A closing of current disparity gaps, as only 5% of federal contracts are awarded to minority-owned businesses.

• New post-pandemic opportunities, as $1 billion dollars has been set aside for contractors, and over $8 billion for airports as a whole.

The launch event will feature and an in-depth SWOT analysis from airline and airport executives, along with an opportunity analysis from state and local government officials, and a SWOT analysis presented by Fortune 500 executives.

The ATL Airport Chamber was founded more than 70 years ago as a business collective that recognized the crucial role of airports to local economies. The non-profit organization defines its mission accordingly: “We seek to promote the airport area as a desirable place to live, work and prosper. We work to bring new businesses into this rapidly growing area, and strive to ensure that existing businesses thrive.”

The Airport Economic Ecosystems Development Program Reception will be held at the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway Hotel, 2801 Convention Center Concourse, on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 6:00pm.
