Obro, a local promotional marketing and advertising firm partnered with a nationwide charity to help local veterans in need. Giving back to the community is a significant part of Obro’s company culture and they continue to exemplify this through consistent charitable works. Last month the firm teamed up with “Home For Our Troops” to assist severely injured post 9/11 Veterans.
“Home For Our Troops” is a nonprofit organization who builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post 9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. According to their website, “After receiving their specially adapted custom Homes For Our Troops homes, a large portion of Veterans have regained a substantial amount of independence. Over 95 percent of Veterans have seen a reduction in household stress after receiving their home.”
The “Home For Our Troops” project resonated with Obro as many of their employees have either served in the military themselves or have family members that are in the service. “Our team was excited as well as honored to give back to the causes that are dear to our hearts, and teaming up with Home For Our Troops was a great way to donate to a cause, but also enjoy the experience,” said CEO Weston Read. “I am proud to have a team that values giving back.” Over the course of May, many various donations were collected from the employees at Obro.
Despite the setbacks and obstacles that COVID-19 has brought, Obro has worked hard to continue to give back to the community in any way they can. Read stated “We make an effort to partner with a local charity as often as we can, whether it be helping veterans or giving back to the homeless we just want to do our part to help.”
As Obro continues to grow, they plan to further their community involvement as much as possible. To learn more about Obro visit: myobro.com.
