Leading brand for topical anesthetic products promises to never experience pain again during microblading session.

Having perfect eyebrows is one of the most current trends in beauty enhancement. However, not everyone can pull off a pair of eyebrows-on-fleek at home. Among the available means to achieve the desired contour and shade of the brows, microblading procedure offers the most natural, precise and longer-lasting method. Although, the benefits of microblading are very attractive, however, the major deterrence in going through such procedure are the painful and unpleasant sensations that can be experienced during the session if there is no proper pain management measures incorporated in the procedure.

In order to address the most vital concern in microblading, Dr.Numb®, the leading brand for topical anesthetic products has also adopted to needs of the ever-dynamic trend of microblading in providing solutions for pain and prevention of infection. No one understands pain and risks better than Dr.Numb®, and most definitely, no one has to ever go through unnecessary pain and predicament in case of microblading has gone wrong. So to raise awareness, here are several best practices to ensure the microblading procedure is hassle-free and painless.

Do a Proper Research

Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that usually lasts for an average of one to two years. Since the tattooed eyebrows will stay on the skin for quite some time, it is essential that the brows match the hair color and shape appropriate to the facial proportions. Also the hair-like incision strokes should appear as natural as possible.

Getting a semi-permanent makeup for eyebrows is a life-altering decision for an extended period of time. Choosing the best microblading artist that still fits the budget is also of importance. To do this, find time to inspect the microblading artist’s works, read reviews, check different social media avenues to scope out pertinent information and lastly, schedule an initial consultation. In the consultation phase, this is where inquiring about the pain management method of the artist comes in. A client in pain while the procedure is ongoing could seriously alter the outcome and overall appearance of the eyebrows. If the client keeps on twitching and complaining of pain, more blood gushes out from the broken skin, thus, the procedure is interrupted by the constant stopping of bleeding and the fine precision needed in creating hair-like strokes will not be achieved.

Another important health concern and also one of the most controversial negligences is the development of infection after breaking the skin. The microblading artist is highly responsible to perform during the procedure, aseptic techniques and maintain an aseptic environment as the highest priorities that must be observed at all cost. Doing the procedures to prevent contamination from microbes involves applying the strictest rules to minimize the risk of infection and Dr.Numb® came up with ways to address all these needs in effective and convenient fashion.

Preparation Before the Procedure

Preparing the skin intarget areas prior to the procedure is the most crucial part of the whole experience. In this stage, the top priorities would be to ensure that the skin has been disinfected and numbed sufficiently to get through the whole process without a hitch.Dr.Numb® came up with the most appropriate solution to cover all the necessities for optimum comfort and infection risk prevention - Dr. Numb Premium Disinfectant and Pain Relief Kit. This kit contains Dr.Numb® Topical 5% Lidocaine Cream and Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap with 4% Lidocaine.

The ingenuity behind Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap with 4% Lidocaine is taking things to the next level by combining powerful disinfection, anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, anesthetic and moisturizing properties in a gentle foam soap formula. It requires a deep understanding of the needs of skin in order to prevent complications and increase the comfort of the user. Dr.NumbTopical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap with 4% Lidocaine contains innovative science-based ingredients that highlights its antiseptic and anti-infective properties in the prevention of microbial contamination. The formula amplifies the use of benzethonium chloride, a powerful antiseptic and anti-infective agent synergized by aloe vera leaf juice, well known for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, intensified by leuconostoc-radish root ferment filtrate, an ingredient capable of restricting the growth of other microorganisms by acidifying its environment. Indeed this product does more than just cleaning and it offers more than what soap and water combination can achieve in cleansing the skin.

The powerful mechanism of action of this product addresses the issue completely in cutting down the risk of bacterial infection. To use it as disinfectant, apply 2 to 3 pumps of foam soap and gently rub into the target area. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse off gently with running water or wipe with clean paper towel.

The second phase of the preparation involves effectively numbing the skin completely to ensure maximum comfort of the client. As mentioned earlier, the importance of keeping the client from any pain and discomfort may affect the outcome of the procedure. Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap contains a non-prescription strength of 4% lidocaine that pre-numbs the skin during the disinfection phase. This feature ultimately creates a synergistic effect when Dr.Numb Topical 5% Lidocaine Cream is used to fully numbed the skin. All it takes is a simple step of applying sufficient amount of numbing cream on the brows covered with plastic film after the skin has been pre-numbed by the foam soap. Wait for at least 30-60 minutes to take effect before removing the excess cream. Using a sterile gauze with pea-sized foam soap, swipe it over the skin that has been numbed to disinfect the skin one more time before starting the microblading the procedure.

Preventive Measures During Procedure

Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap with 4% Lidocaine plays a great role during the procedure in maintaining an aseptic environment to prevent invasion and multiplication of microbes that are not normally present within the body. Bacterial infection poses an even greater problem than pain after the procedure that is why Health Authorities have implemented stricter monitoring of microblading practice to lessen the incidence of eyebrow complications. Dr.Numb® has made it simpler and more straightforward.

During the procedure, ensure that sterile gauzes are within reach. With just minimal amount of the Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap applied onto the gauze and dabbed gently on broken skin can easily disinfect the exposed area. Microblading procedure is not like a surgical operation in which everything should be sterile however, a certain degree of cleanliness and sterility must be observed. If in doubt, assume that the skin has been contaminated, thus dab it with Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap.

In cases when there is blood coming out from the skin, dabbing the skin with Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap is a much better option than wetting the gauze with water because of its hemostatic property from arnica montana flower and selaginella lepidophylla extracts. These two botanical extracts can stop traumatic bleeding in broken skin. Another reason that it is better than water is because water has cleansing properties, it may wash off the numbing effect too quickly. Unlike Dr.Numb® Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap, it originally contains lidocaine, thus re-applying it on the skin is another way of reinforcing the numbing effect of Dr.Numb® Topical 5% Lidocaine Cream, making it last longer.

Post-Procedure Care Instructions

The aftercare procedure is just as important as the actual microblading session. The next few days following the procedure, the tattooed brows should not be rubbed, picked or scratched. Any crusting or scabbing will exfoliate naturally in due time.Picking may cause scarring of the brow area. When the brows are healing, do not use any cleansers containing acids or exfoliants.

In this phase, the Dr.Numb Topical Anesthetic Disinfectant Foam Soap can still be utilized in cases when some areas of the brows are weeping clear fluid. Very gently, apply foam soap on a cotton pad, gauze or cotton bud and dab it in the surrounding areas. In cases of swelling, the foam soap contains very strong anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the swelling. Similarly, it should just be gently applied in the surrounding areas.

For sudden episodes of pain and discomfort, the Dr.Numb Topical 5% Lidocaine Cream can be appliedminimally to reduce the pain. Avoid application of cream in the inked part. This product also contains Vitamin E. It is not just an ordinary pain relief, it also contains moisturizer to prevent the skin from drying out in every use.

Apply healing cream as minimal as possible. Prevent the tattooed area from being frequently touched due to potential contamination. If aftercare products are repeatedly applied to the area without daily cleansing, suffocation can occur. This may lead to nasty buildup of old product, dust, oil, scab, and bacteria. It is the build-up of product and lack of washing/cleaning that causes thick raised scab, crusty texture, distinct redness around the skin, yellow discharge, pain, itchiness, the skin around the brows may feel very warm to touch. This can occur even if no aftercare product was applied but the area just has not been washed for several days.

There are other precautions that must be observed such as avoidance of sun exposure, chemical treatments, facials and other agents that can be damaging. The treated area will initially appear darker, brighter and bolder due to natural crusting for 1-2 weeks but this occurrence is very common in permanent and semi-permanent cosmetic procedures.

Lastly, do make a follow up appointment after 4-6 weeks as instructed by the microblading artist after the initial procedure in order to touch it up and refine it to ensure pleasant results and increase longevity of the perfectly shaped brows.
