Ruth Hadfield Beatrice, Retired Educator for The School District of Philadelphia, the Worcester School District, the Spring-Ford Area School District, the Souderton Area School District and Central Bucks School District, and Certified Hypnotherapist, was just recently selected as “Top Lifetime Educator” for 2019 by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP), for her excellence in education, dedication and achievement.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities. With over 3 decades of professional experience serving as an elementary educator throughout Pennsylvania, Ruth has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success not only throughout each district and in her community, but has also established long-term relationships and trust among her colleagues and students. She always pushed her students to utilize their creativity and to be hands on. She would oversee big musical productions, would collaborate with the music and art departments, and would encourage her students to complete projects that would enhance their confidence and self worth.
Since High School, Ruth knew that she wanted to pursue a career in education. She earned her Bachelor of Science from West Chester University and her Master of Science from Marywood College. She also took several postgraduate courses at Pennsylvania State University and Temple University. Stephanie Cirami, President of IAOTP stated that “Choosing Ruth for this honor was an easy decision for our panel to make. She is talented, brilliant, humble and gracious and we know we will be seeing more amazing accomplishments from this amazing woman. We hope to spend time with her at the gala.”
Aside from her successful career in education, Ruth ventured into hypnosis in 1980. She became certified as a clinical hypnotherapist throughout Philadelphia Hypnosis Union Institute, and later became a certified hypno-anesthesia therapist through the National Board of Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anesthesiology. She opened her own practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and since her move in 2004, she still provides hypnotherapy services in New Jersey and now maintains a practice in Port St. Lucie Florida.
Ruth remains active in her community and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession. For 2019 she is being considered for a feature in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine and for IAOTP’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Also for 2019 she was selected as Top Lifetime Educator and for 2018 featured as an Outstanding Professional with Marquis Whos Who. She is a member with the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the Hypnosis Education Association, and the National Education Association. Ruth is the past Vice President of the Philadelphia Branch of the Hypnosis Society of Pennsylvania, the Vice President of the Philadelphia Hypnosis Union Local 476, a board member of the Pierce Free Library, a union delegate of the Office and Professional Employees International Union International Convention, and the Treasurer of the Newcomers Civic Association.
Looking back, Ruth attributes her success to her perseverance, strength, her positive attitude and her passion for educating and helping people. When not working she enjoys biking, camping, tennis, golf and fishing. For the future, she will continue to grow as a professional and wants to continue to make a difference in people’s lives anyway that she can.
