Shelley Joy, world-renowned Artist, Poet and Performer was recently chosen for the Artist of the Decade Award given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the Arts.
While inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals is an honor in itself, only, 1 Male and 1 Female Artist are selected for this distinction. Shelley Joy is being recognized for this honor for dedicating more than 30 years to the Arts. Shelley Joy is well-known for her professional experience as a Contemporary Artist over the past 30 years. Shelley Joy’s work can be seen all over the world. In addition to her Paintings, she is also a Theatrical Artist, Poet, Songwriter and Performer. Her impressive repertoire of where her work has been showcased include, the Museo de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, Museum of Modern Art in New York City and Toyamaya Museum in Japan. Shelley Joy has also been credited as an exhibitor at the Vanderbilt Museum, New Atrium Museum of the Louvre, Domus Design Center, Sunda Fine Art and Blue Mountain Gallery. She has also participated in group shows with Charles Lucien Gallery, Puccio Gallery LTD and Ambassador Galleries LTD where she exhibited with Jerry Garcia and David Bowie.
Shelley Joy attended the Aegina Arts Center, the New England School of Photography, the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, and the Arts Students League in New York.
Throughout her illustrious career, Shelley Joy has received awards, accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her amazing talents and passion for the arts. This year she was featured on the famous Reuters Building in Times Square, NYC, was an honored guest on CUTV, interviewed by Miss Universe on TIP Radio, and was named as a Lifetime Achievement recipient. For 2020 she was chosen as an Empowered Woman of the Year. In 2019, she graced the front cover of TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and she was selected as Top Artist of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). In past years, she was selected as an Outstanding Professional Painter/Artist by Marquis Who’s Who, recipient of the Albert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award which was featured in the Wall Street Journal and featured with Who’s Who of Professional Women. In addition, Shelley Joy was featured in Millennium Magazine and was selected for her art to be a contributing author in the book America’s Leading Ladies where Oprah and Melinda Gates are also featured.
Aside from her successful art career, Shelley Joy is widely known as a poet and performer. She collaborates with other artists, musicians, actors and singers and she creates events so that these professionals can collaborate and network with each other. Shelley is very active within her community and is a member of the Art Students League; the Actors’ Equity Association, Broadcast Music, Inc. and SAG-AFTRA. She pays it forward by supporting charitable missions such as Doctors Without Borders, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and CARE.
Looking back, Shelley Joy attributes her success to her perseverance, mentors she has had the privilege of collaborating with and staying passionate in all of her artistic works. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, dancing and spending time with her family. For the future she hopes to continue to inspire others with her works of art and to have her work exhibited in more museums and galleries.
