Asia’s newest prestige beauty brand SkinCalories makes its worldwide debut in November with its collection of luxury beauty products. Born from the desire to supply good quality and trustworthy skincare products that people could depend on, founder Madelyn Yeo created a product line which utilizes not only simple, tried and true ingredients, but the latest in emerging technology.
“Skincare is a crucial part of our daily routine from basic protection from the harmful effects of the sun to putting on a full “face” of makeup. We understand that ingredients and price both play a factor in our skincare product purchases. Our goal is to help customers spend less time searching for the right skincare solutions. Using ‘state of the art’ AI / AR technology our virtual ambassador can help customers learn and understand what will work best for them.” said Madelyn Yeo, Founder of SkinCalories.
“When creating this line, we took a simple, no-nonsense approach developing products with simple ingredients that are both proven to deliver results and also offer customers great value for the quality. We’ve also gone one step further in using EWG certified ingredients to ensure our products are not harmful to the consumer or the environment.”
In a strategic collaboration with avante-garde entertainment marketing and branding agency Brand Pathogen, SkinCalories will launch with the help of its very own digital brand ambassador, Magda.
Brand Pathogen, the genius company behind the launch of Jamore’s Chthonia, has specially designed Magda, the virtual ambassador, to not only help inform and educate users about the products, but also to entertain them as they follow along in her journey to stardom in her own comic series “Broken Seal”.
The digital comic will document her discoveries of the products and their effectiveness whilst she meets her various mentors such as members of The Sam Willows, Jill Lowe, and many others while she pursues her dream of becoming a KPop star.

“Brand Pathogen wants to take the consumer on a journey with “entertainment-centric” branding which pulls the consumer into the brand’s own imagination. We’ve created a universe and characters which the consumer can follow, like Magda, as she pursues her dream of becoming a Kpop star through her lifestyle choices, a training regime, and appropriate skincare, using SkinCalories product line of course!” says Shi Lee, Director of Brand Pathogen.
Magda, the virtual ambassador for SkinCalories will be available to customers via the special QR codes on the product, and on the website. She will be able to ask and answer questions the user may have and will learn each user by employing modern artificial intelligence technology. In regards to being the first ambassador for this new brand, Magda had this to say:
“It’s an honour to be the virtual ambassador for such a great product line. I am thrilled to be able to help customers learn about the SkinCalories products and guide them in their skincare routines.”
“I am also anxious to share my adventure into music and the Kpop world! I couldn’t believe it when Shi Lee told me that I had the potential to become a lead singer. It never crossed my mind that it could be possible, and I’m still trying to process it. But as long as I keep my eyes on my goal as I embark on my training, I’m going to get there.”
EWG Certified Ingredients
Designed for “every woman” 100% of the ingredients in the line of products are EWG certified to be in the green zone, making them hypoallergenic and suitable for most skin types. SkinCalories also features the brand's signature lavender water formula and special ingredient Kisome Vita F which supports the penetration and action of the active ingredients into the skin so that they work throughout the day.
Find your element
The series is influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine and the five elements of nature: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. Madelyn explains “In Oriental Medicine, the key to beauty and skincare lies in the balance of the elements through various herbs. Put simply, it is a system whereby health and vitality is restored to the body by balancing the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. All skin concerns can be addressed utilizing the elements, and it is important to recognize that your skin symptoms can change as the seasons do. Utilizing the theory of the five elements can help to restore optimum skin health and radiance.“
