The 5000 Regionals list is an official extension of the Inc. 5000. The prestigious ranking lists the fastest growing companies that have achieved significant success in a particular region. There are currently six Inc. 5000 Regionals lists:
- NYC Metro: The area consists of New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York.

To become an Inc. 5000 regional honoree in the NYC region, private businesses need to make at least $1 million in 2018 and grew, on average, 214% between 2017 and 2019. In addition to income, regional companies also need to provide proof that they are consistently generating sustainable jobs and growth. According to Inc., approximately 250 private companies employed over 48,000 individuals and contributed nearly $9 billion to the NYC Metro’s economy during this period. Independent businesses based out of central New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut, and Stamford brought in the highest revenue overall.
