Mayor Michael Hancock Issues Proclamation Declaring Social Media Day Denver: Mile High Influence

The City of Denver will be joining other cities around the world to recognize and celebrate social media’s impact on global communications as Mayor Michael Hancock has declared June 30th Social Media Day Denver: Mile High Influence. Initially started in 2010 by popular tech site Mashable.com, Social Media Day has become an international event celebrated by cities around the globe.

Social Media Day Denver will be the city’s most ambitious effort to date featuring an all-day agenda which will bring together leaders in the social space from both in and out of state. The conference will take place on Friday, June 29th at Mile High Station located adjacent to the Mile High Stadium. There will also be a celebration on Saturday, June 30th with scavenger hunt & closing festivities in the Cherry Creek area with partner hotel Moxy Denver Cherry Creek. 

Headlining the event will be John Lee Dumas, host of the award-winning podcast, Entrepreneurs on Fire. John is the creator of the international bestselling journals, The Freedom Journal, and, The Mastery Journal, which have sold over 50,000 copies.

When asked about Social Media Day Denver, John Lee Dumas, said: “Denver-ites won’t be able to stand the HEAT I'm bringing to Denver, so buckle up Colorado, and prepare to IGNITE!”

Dumas will be joined by some of the most influential names in the social media space, including local industry leader Joel Comm, emcee, Kim Garst of Tampa, Florida; Brian Fanzo, Virginia; Chris Strub, New York; Ken Surritte, Oklahoma; and Brandon T. Adams, Iowa. 

While many featured speakers will be crossing state lines to be a part of this ground-breaking event, a number of top local personalities will be on hand to equip attendees. Colorado speakers include Viveka von Rosen, Brian G. Johnson, Laura Pence Atencio, Carrie Gottschalk, and conference organizer, Erin Cell. 

There will also be a Facebook Marketing Panel featuring local businesses & their employees. This panel will include; Brian Peters, Buffer App; Emily Wade, Kroenke Sports; Nik Scott, Scott Media; and Bailey Birk, Booyah Advertising; panel moderated by Chad Illa-Petersen, Social Chadvisor.

Social Media Day Denver 2018 commences at 9:30 am on Friday, June 29th at Mile High Station [Platinum Sponsor] located at 2027 Old West Colfax Ave with a full-day agenda; including giveaways, lunch which will be served by local food trucks and tea provided by Teakoe Tea. 

Social Media Day Denver has partnered with local beverage company New Age Beverages, Thornton, to support, Water is Life, a nonprofit to help end the world water crisis.
