On July 20th of this year, Standard Energy Solutions was excited to commission an innovative 11kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system for a home in Odenton, MD.
The homeowners reached out to Standard Energy Solutions with a goal to power their home with clean energy and achieve greater energy independence from the power grid. They also wanted greater peace of mind in the event of a power outage.
We ultimately designed and installed an 11kW rooftop system featuring a Sonnen eco 10 solar battery and two level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers. The 11 kW system with the Sonnen battery is designed to provide continuing power for a home that uses about 14,500 kWh of electricity per year. Its EV chargers will support three plug-in hybrid cars.
This unique system provides a wide range of benefits for these homeowners, including access to clean and renewable energy and uninterrupted power with minimal reliance on the power grid. The system also offers protection against rising electricity rates & time-of-use (TOU) tariffs, which have already been put into place in California, Arizona and locally in Virginia with Dominion Power. even Virginia with Dominion Power.
In the event of a power outage, the system will continue to provide power to the home’s protected loads, including the sump pump, security system, appliances, internet, TV and lights.
