The Children’s book “The Adventures of Veggieman: Food Fight” by author Karla Farach, was written to unify children and parents across the globe in the goal to make healthier food choices.
The new Spanish version is designed to reach the Hispanic/Latino population, where higher rates of obesity contribute to a high rate of diabetes among children and adults. The consumption of processed, ultra-processed and junk foods is unfortunately very high among the Hispanic/Latino population, thus increasing the chances of developing metabolic diseases from a young age. Junk and processed foods are also heavily advertised to Hispanics/Latino groups thus promoting an increase consumption incentivized by its low cost compared to wholesome foods.
