“There’s Gold in Them Thar Hills” ---Julian’s Hills, That Is

On April 6th and 7th, 2019, Julian will, once again, celebrate the discovery of gold in their mountain community and invite visitors to learn more about the town’s history while being entertained with such things as gold panning, tomahawk throwing demonstrations, hayrides, archery, candle dipping, children’s pioneer games, and more. 

Celebrating the 150th year since the discovery of gold near Julian!

Where: Julian Farm and Orchard. Located at 4381 Highway 78  (Just 3.5 miles west of Julian Main Street) FREE parking.
What time: 10:00-5:00 both Sat. & Sun.
 

Julian Gold Rush Days celebrates the discovery of gold on our mountain in 1869 by formerly enslaved Mr. Coleman, and invites visitors to learn more about our history with a weekend of entertainment and Living Historians.  
Civil War encampment, Living History Reenactors and vendors, an arts and crafts market, food and drink vendors, and plenty more family fun!  

ADMISSION is $3 and includes participation in the following:  
-Visit the reenactment camps.
-Watch Civil War battle & demos held by several reenacting units.  
-Interact with Fiddles & Folk playing live music from the Gold Rush days, Civil War, and folk tunes.  
-Join in the square dancing lessons, Medicine Show and old time entertainment throughout the day.  
-Shop at vendors, including food, drink, and Reenactors such as Kansas Mercantile.
-Also included are Gold Panning, old fashioned chores (such as Laundry), and "corn-struction" for the little ones.  

Passport/TICKETS (separate from general admission) are for these ACTIVITIES:
• Gem Sluicing
• Tomahawk Throwing  
• Archery
• Hayride
* Candle dipping  

“Julian Gold Rush Days is a great opportunity to ‘turn back the clock’ and give visitors an idea of what Julian was like in its early days,” says Tracy Turner of the Julian Chamber of Commerce.  “It’s entertainment for the whole family!”

Event is sponsored by the Julian Chamber of Commerce and hosted by the, owners of Julian Mining Company and Julian Farm and Orchard.
