Captiva, FL: 'Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa, the Official Beach Resort of Captiva Island, has announced the third annual Captivaville Songwriters Weekend. The event will be held at the legendary Captiva Island resort Friday, June 18 to Sunday, June 20. The Captivaville 2021 lineup features outstanding regional singer-songwriters from Southwest Florida and Nashville. They are:
Sheena Brook. Sheena is a recording artist and songwriter with the ability to draw in her audience with captivating lyrics and charisma — whether that’s country, rock, pop or her own compositions or original takes on today’s hits. A native of Fort Myers, Florida, Sheena appeared on NBC’s The Voice where she was picked by Adam Levine to be on his team. With this national exposure of her talents, she’s gained the attention of Multi-Platinum songwriters and other artists to further her creativity in her unique style — and has teamed with Nashville and Florida singer-songwriters to expand her repertoire and performances. Sheena’s a rising star with a bright future, propelled by her creativity, guitar and vocal skills, and sparkling stage presence.
Kayley Bishop. Take a hint of bluegrass, a bit of playful rockabilly, a touch of soul and a dash of storytelling, cook it up together and garnish it with a modern twist and you have yourself Kayley Bishop. Her sound has been compared to Jewel, Dolly Parton, and Stevie Nicks while incorporating her own fresh take on country music. She loves blending the old with the new, finding inspiration from the artists who were trailblazers in country music of the past. Keith Urban has described her voice as a “gumbo of Celine Dion, Natalie Maines and Jewel”. From season 15 of NBC’s The Voice, Kayley is now in the works of recording her next project with Grammy Nominated producer, Eric Torres.
Brian Sutherland. Brian Sutherland is an acoustic songwriter living in Nashville, TN. His brand of Americana has a certain pop and jazz influence that makes his music both timeless and relevant. He writes about love, loss, victories and defeats, and how leaning into your heart is always the best way forward. Sutherland honed his craft on the Gulf Coast shores of Southwest Florida, entertaining tourists and telling stories. A veteran of the songwriting festival circuit, he's been selected to perform at the Island Hopper Songwriting Festival, Key West Songwriters Festival, Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival, String Break Music Festival, Riverhawk Music Festival and the Druid City Songwriters Festival.
Trick Savage. Trick Savage is a lifetime music professional, and Grammy nominated songwriter hailing from Oklahoma. A place he calls the “ground zero of country music greatness”. He is an in-demand sideman and session guitarist and, as an ad music guy, has written and produced music for clients from ESPN, TBN and WGN to Levis, Sonic Drive-in and even presidential candidates. As a songwriter, he’s had cuts with Eric Church, Ashley McBryde, Dan Smalley, Trisha Yearwood and more.
Will Jones. Will Jones has lived and breathed all things Country since he was half the height to a hound dog. Beginning his music career at just six years of age, Will started performing with his family’s traveling bluegrass band, The Cana Ramblers, and would go on to garner national notoriety for their final album release in 2009, No Expectations. He's now a full-time songwriter and musician in Nashville.
