Tiki Lee’s Dock Bar provides meals to 350 local families for Thanksgiving Day
Sparrows Point, Maryland (November 24, 2021) – To give thanks in 2021, the staff at Tiki Lee’s Dock Bar, along with local farmers, volunteers, and Baltimore County Teachers have spent the last few days roasting 400turkeys and cooking all the fixings to deliver to needy families for Thanksgiving Day. Dave Carey, founder and owner of Tiki Lee’s said, “I was born and raised in Dundalk, I wanted to give back to the community that has supported my family and businesses for the last several years and I thought this was one of the best ways we could help.”
Dave Carey and Tiki Lee’s staff and volunteers will distribute meals to 350 families from 22 area schoolswhich represents 1800 people in the communities surrounding Tiki Lee’s. The meals have been prepared in the state-of-the-art kitchen at Tiki’s Lee’s. The turkeys were donated by Albright Farms, produce by Edward G Rahll &Sons, as well as donations from Saval Foods. Dave hopes that this effort and other events will bring attention to the community and shine a light on the beauty of Back River and its adjacent waterways.
Tracy Stratemeyer, the event organizer, a Logan Elementary School Teacher said, “I’ve been working with Mr. Carey to give back to the community for the last two years. The Thanksgiving meal giveaway will benefit the community for years to come. In unprecedented times, we are so happy we can reach so many kids and their families during this holiday season. The outreach to the community is truly the cherry on top. Special thanks to my fellow teachers ... I appreciate all of you.”
In tribute, Tiki Lee's Dock Bar is named for Lee Carey, founder Dave Carey's father, who was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
